  1. yes you're right its just frustrating after constant searching, viewing confirming details and then when i've checked myself its incorrect. Oh well back to the drawing board.
  2. How very annoying, 2nd in a row that this has happend !!
  3. The owner is happy to wait while i check things out and is waiting for notification from me my main worry is that if I send off the details to DVLA and they say sorry its stolen, I loose everything.
  4. its also a Q plate which was shipped to the country from Ireland and registered on arrival. Reason for Q says unable to prove year of manufacture. Something else i've just noticed, as I took photos of V5, engine number and VIN and i've just loaded them up and zoomed in on the Vin is that the number is correct apart from a number 2 stamped in but on paperwork its down as a Z. Even www.mycarcheck says that the Z is correct for this vehicle. So annoying, I really like this motor but i'm unsure of what to do :-(
  5. hi, sorry should have put more info. Its a 200 TDI and the number starts 12L * 01XXXX the V5 says its a 19J0XXXXX and this matches all the previous owner details
  6. Hi all, i've just won an ebay auction on a lovely 1994 Defender 90 but when I went to collect the car I of course checked all the usual things against the paperwork the owner has. Everything was fine except the engine number which isn't even slightly close. The owner seemed as suprised as I did and after spending a good 45 mins with him I tend to believe what he says but still..... How can I check that it doesn't have a stolen engine inside?
