  1. Well i have rung a couple of firms and would you believe i was talking to my neighbour who told me who he has used before so i called them up and i got quoted £150 all fitted...... (with a 10 year guarantee) booked in for monday. Not getting the front windows done, just the middle and back(7 seater td5 discovery).

    a chuffed shaun :D

  2. i'm also after getting this done.just found a guy on fleabay who sells laser cut ones.Just sent him an email to ask how much for mine to get cut.(got a td5 7 seater discovery).I have heard that DIY kits are a bag of shi*e so i am sort of put off by it, but the price is a hell of a lot cheaper then getting it done by a "pro".

  3. just a small update to say i had a reoccurance of the leak from the front sunroof...... :(

but i have found you can drop the front part of the headlining down in less than 15 minutes to get full access!!!

take out the front roof console and front sunvisors.

then remove all 4 grab handles above front and rear doors and then pop off the plastic trim on the A and B pillars.

headling now drops down and rests about 18" giving you unrestricted access to the fron sunroof.

My new leak had been caused by my rushing the fix on the first leak!

I had reglued the pipe onto the drain cup (see photos in earlier post) but i had disturbed the original black mastik sealing the cup to the frame. This allowed water to leak past the mastik and run down the headlining and leak from the courtesy light and sunroof switches.

A good smear of silicone sealant all round both cups and sprayed the whole sunroof with a jetwash (my god, the quantity of water that leaks in and drains into the cups / down the drain pipes is amazing!) and refitted the headlining again.

total time to fix - 45 minutes.

i think the main amount of time it took to do the whole headlining removal was buggering about with the plastic panels at the back in the load bay and messing about with the dickie seat belts etc.

so if you just have a leaky front sunroof - its dead easy and quick to get to.

Hi, cheers for this info.I too only had a leak at the front (drivers side) so i attempted this job today and looks like i had the same problem as you, the small plastic lug had snapped clean off into the pipe, i only had to remove the front driverside to gain access to the problem.didnt take that long to complete and hopefully i have cured the problem.

Just thought i would say thanks for all the info and photos, these helped a lot.

    Cheers

PS..... The damp stains that i had have now been completly removed by the mrs just using pound shop upholstery cleaner and it has come up like brand spanking new (just a tip in case anyone else has the problem)

  4. I spoke with a guy who had the same problem on his freelander, now my back sunroof is leaking on my td5 he recommended a mobile sunroof repairer, i gave the guy a call and he his coming out friday to replace the inner seal and check it over at the cost of about £90 all in, ill update after he has done the job but he removes the headlining etc .Best thing was he laughed when i said disco 2 leaky sunroof he said not to worry he has done loads

Hi just like to say 1st off, excellent forum :D , i have gained a lot of tips from here for my newly purchased disco 2 td5, i have had a few niggles of which i have sorted, just this last one for now

I have also got a leak in my Disco 2 (just above driver side sunshade), i dont suppose anyone has a number of a mobile sunroof repairer around the lincoln area do they? I have looked everywhere for one with no success.

Cheers if any one can help, also cheers for a excellent forum :D
