  1. my td5 is on a 1.2 tx as I do a lot of motorways. I like it tbh, I can still pull away in 2nd, it tows fine and the only time I have to drop out of 5th for big hills is when towing anything heavy.

some discos didn't have a center diff so buy with caution or be prepared to open it up to sort it out. Google is your friend here

  2. Only thing with that is Barry it disables your alarm. I was thinking if using a second battery for a while ( smaller like a motorbike one so the alarm would work but wouldn't turn the motor over.

But I came to the conclusion that you could still make it run if you somehow bump started it.

I'm now thinking of a second battery that just feed the alarms.

  3. Imo a layered approach works best. Find out how landrovers are broken into, how the security is defeated and go from there.

To start with upgrade the std security , with a little imagination it isnt hard.

All the info is on the internet and im not going to out it on a public forum telling people how to nick them and what additional measures i have made bar the obvious. Sorry. I live in the middle of Liverpool and mine lasted 10 days before the 1st theift attempt, since i got the proximity alarm and trained the dogs to react its been left alone.

but the things you can see on mine are rear window security bars, a disklok with the welded bars to prevent it from being peeled off or jacked apart, a pedal lock and padlocks and chains between doors that are not in use. I also have a second alarm and imobiliser with a proximity alarm that starts warning you away if you get within 2 foot of it.

  4. Easiest way is to park your daily driver facing a wall in the dark with the headlamps on, mark the heights and dip angle on the wall with chalk/gaffer tape etc, Mark front wheel position on the floor, park the Range Rover in the same position and adjust the headlamps to meet your marks :)

    I've done loads like this

    bloody brilliant idea

  5. As ive only just bought my defender and sank a load of cash into it my plan of a heated screen is on the back burner for now.

I have however got the fan and heater working quite well, my plan for the time being is in the really cold weather to run a extension lead out to the landy and have a fan heater in their set on a timer to come on half an hr before i want to use the truck. Hopefully this will take the edge off and clear all the windows till the heater kicks in. About 1 mile atm to get warm 3 miles to get really hot.
