Just thought I'd add if it helps anyone else, I used the advice of running a cable from my battery to my chassis ( because I didn't have any cable I used my jump leads) to see if it cured it and it did. So I gave the connections a thorough clean and changed washers. Great site with members with great knowledge, no doubt I'll be speaking to you all again soon. Cheers again

Can't thank you guys enough. When I got home from work I took off the earth wires once again gave them another clean replaced the washers. Not only has it sorted it, I also have brighter lights than before. Very much appreciated. ?

I've unplugged the handbrake switch but still the same problem

Tried bridging the relay still same

I've tried bridging the relay still the same. Lights work and then as soon as I release the handbrake they go off and nothing works. Engine still runs tho I'm any more ideas

Can I use any wire?

Whilst on my dinner I found the earth was loose on the chassis and was full of carp. I've cleaned it up and refitted it but the pink relay behind the clocks is still buzzing any chance this could now be kaput. Cheers Or is it worth buying new earth cable and relay. Electrics are my kryptonite. Should I try bridging the relay ?

Hi guys wondering if anyone can help me. The electrics have decided to go crazy, I can have my lights turned on and everything is fine but as soon as I release the handbrake the lights go off gauges stop working screen washer spraying and the relay behind the clocks, the pink one is buzzing also the yellow one in centre. Could this possibly be a bad earth, can anyone tell me where the earth straps are located so I can check. Is it worth changing the relays that are buzzing because they seem to work fine when hand brake is on. Hopefully someone can help me it's driving me nuts
