  1. Hi guys,

I really hope you can help me. I had a door loom break for the central locking. whilst I established where it was I wiggled the wires whilst locking and unlocking.

It burst the fuse when it shorted for the ECU I think it was. Now I have lost the ability to lock and unlock via the keyfob. I fixed the door loom but now I can only lock and unlock by the key in the drivers door barrel. It will unlock/lock all of the doors doing that.

Is there anyway to rectify this? I obviously cannot now start my defender because the imobiliser is on which is making it even worse. Not sure what to do.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

    Kim

  2. It's a nice build, you've done good work so far.

I can upload off my iPad or iPhone straight to the forum (using Chrome app as a browser), seems to work ok as long as the file size isn't over 1.95mb - this does preclude most modern digital photos unfortunately. I've often got around this by uploading to Facebook (which auto-resizes) and then re-saving back to the iPad. The resulting much smaller JPEG is then easily uploaded to the forum.

I did just notice I can now post pics now my account doesn't need aproval to post, I may try post but I can't re post the whole blog, I know it's around 1000 photos so far haha, I may start a small one on here when I get something more substantial done :)

  3. You can upload them to the forum. Personally though I just use an third party one. Means I can more easily upload on the go to the Photobucket app.

I tried and didn't get it. I do upload mostly from my phone to save time too hence why it's easier to go straight onto the forum.

  4. Just short of 14' Ross.

Is that the same build I've seen on the MIG welding forum? That ones certainly further along than mine!

Yeah you've got it :) My td5 Lou! :), I was going to upload to here but its a pain, you end up needing a third party image uploading thing I think ? Much nicer just to do it straight to the forum :)

  5. Thanks Kimberly.

As always, it's not big enough. Changed the rear brakes on the 90 yesterday and it was a bit tight width-wise getting the half shafts out. Though come the time when there isn't a big pile of bits of 110 down one side this problem won't exist I am hoping.

It's always the way isn't it. You think it looks fine untill you start putting things inside it, still larger than the garage I've been using, mustn't complain, it's better than nothing :D

I'm guessing you are the same Kimberly I've seen doing the TD5 build on FB, if so you seem to be managing pretty well without James' luxuries ..... in fact you've made far more progress than James! :) Congrats on your first start the other day!

I am indeed :) Thank you though, dead pleased with it, hopefully start making some progress on the bodywork over the next couple weeks!

  6. If you are worried about warped galvanized bulkheads, have a look at getting it zink plates. I had mine done. Gave a good finish, ready for painting. Just need to drill some holes so I can cavity fill it. I have a galvanized chassis too, I will also be cavity waxing that too :) Can never be to careful!

  7. This deserves an update a year and a bit on from the last one. I finally got the rear fascias on in the summer which then allowed me to install the guttering right round the building before the onset of this winter.

The building has continued to be most useful, I was able to carry out a clutch change and a load of other work on a week off from work despite atrocious weather - which was after all the main aim of building it.

There's still a bit of work to be done, I need to make a new personnel door for example but it's pretty much there :)

Wow, that looks amazing :) I wish I had somewhere of that size to finish my rebuild :(
