  1. take a look at these to events http://www.northernchallege.co.uk/ http://www.clubmanchallenge.co.uk/ both are on at lea bridge at the end of the month they are a great starting point and cater for all classes of vehicles

you will heve be put into any position that you dont wont to be on these events if your not happy to atempt a punch then you dont have to

if you are not ready to compete yet turn up and have a chat with the lads and lasses they will be more than happy to give you advise on any subject they can

  2. Snatch recoveries? With rope or strop? Errr, no thanks! :o

Using a rope or strop to recover a vehicle the slack should be taken up gently before applying the load.

If it wont come out like that then winch.

Run and hide if someone gets a KERR out!!

its all good and well but have you ever tried winching a landy thats sunk up to the door bottoms and have no where to anchor the winch vehicle to it dosent happen then you are left with te only option of snatching the stuck vehicle out which i have done many time with no damage to my 90 or the stuck vehicle its just down to where you atach the rope

as for what to get you wont go far wrong with geting a good rope and a good strap they both have there own up points but kerr ropes are a big no no i had one snap on me the results where i needed a new rear door and a new windscreen not to mentoin a change of under wear it missed my head by an inch or two

  3. im just about to order some steel tube for the rear tray and front wing and carnt deside on what thickness of tube to get its so would like alittle help

the choises i have is 50.8 x 2.03 or 50.8 x 3.2 as i say it not suporting the cage or anything but will be mounted to th same spreader plates as the rear stays of the roll cage thank dave

  4. right i had the full gywn lewis kit on my od truck and have seen alot of trucks runing fox coilover and was woundering wether or not they are any good for a challenge truck

would it be possible for anyone to give me the pros and cons for fitting coilover as i know gywns kit is worth ever penny just wan to get the best i can out of he new build cheers dave

  5. first things first when you start building a challenge truck do it right the first time (unlike me ) dont skimp for the sake of a few quid but once you have started to enter evens you wont want to stop its just down to how much cash you have to spend i started out the same as you with laning and play days and slowly progresed to the challenge seen

you can enter the badlrc events with just a front winch if you want as they run classes for all types of vehicals this is where i started and would still be competing if it wornt for the credit cruch but hay ho il be helping run it for this year

you will never be asked or made to drive anything you dont feel up to and this is one thing badlrc events stick to

basic go to an event or to take a look at some of the trucks there and speak to the drives they dont bite and will help you no end they might even have some bits for sale

  6. first of all congrtulations to alan and john on there win you are truly a cut above the rest
