  1. Happy new year to all, Having discovered that my beloved 130 (1998, 300tdi) is rapidly converting itself to rust, thanks to the electrolytic genus of blending aluminium, iron and salt spray (plus a few years of my laziness, and landrover's 'clever' idea of removing the zinc anodes at some point in the 90s). This means I'm probably looking at a replacement rear crossmember, and bulkhead outriggers (I'm trying not to see the rusty bulkhead..) Much of the 130 chassis seems very similar to the 110, but I'm not sure if the replacement crossmember is common, as the rear bumper extends from it, unlike the 110. So I was wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom on a recommended replacement part? I think I just need the cross member with the short extensions, as the rest of the rear chassis seems ok(ish). Now that my hangover has faded, and it is no longer -10 outside I should get under the back again with hammer and see which other safety-critical parts are 90% rust.. Obviously in an ideal world I would replace the chassis with a galvanised thing of beauty, replace all the corroded panels, or better yet, get someone else to do it, but this will have to wait until I win the lottery, and my kids become ridiculously well paid (and generous) I'm not sure either the landy or I will be around by the time this happens..
