Thanks, as I suspected. In fact the section around the top corner and the heater matrix mount on the nearside is full of paper, poor filler and more corrosion.

I knew this Defender had significant corrosion when I bought it as I was looking for a project that would be a replacement chassis starting point. Stripping back my 1993 200tdi for a rebuild, the photo attached shows some of the rust damage seen so far. Are there repair panels available for the section above the foot wells and below the vent panels or as I suspect this is a fabrication job? Bill
