If I remember correctly he mentioned it was indeed diesel and also said he thought Mazda or Perkins. Sorry about the picture quality, I think it says 7-8 if you're referring to the number in the center.

Hi! My dad has this Land Rover but someone took the starter motor out of it. I'm hoping somebody here can help identify the engine and starter motor required. I hope the photos can help, if you need any more information please let me know, I don't know much about vehicles so I'm hoping this is all that's needed but I can ask for more info if required.
