Its because the new bars are an inch thicker and therefore rub against the leaf spring

I just want a 1" lift so i can fit my HD steering bars as they dont fit at the moment as it is.

That is a nice looking series mate. How did you lift yours, i have ordered taratantula 4x4 2" lift shackles but do you need any thing else to lift tye front spring hangers.

Hooray my Series 3 109 passed her MOT test today and not even an advisory i am so chuffed

All sorted now turns out it was a loose wire from the ignition. Thanks everybody its off the the garage now for an MOT so wish me luck. Will let you know if she passes.

Sorry had to pop out for a bit. To confirm it is a 2.25 petrol and is fitted with a defender ignition. Looked at paddock spares and was surprised at the price for a series ignition £66 are they having a laugh. Anyhoo have got a spare defender ignition and will fit that tomorrow and see if thats the problem. Also disconnected the battery with the ignition off and the engine is still running does that mean anything at all. Thanks for all your replys much appreciated.

My engine still runs and the ignition lights stay on even when the keys are removed does anybody have any ideas as to what is causing this to happen. I have a 1982 series 3 lwb with a defender ignition.

Hi i am looking to put my old discovery seats into my series 3 lwb. Is there any body out there that has done this and how easy a conversion is it. Any photos would be appreciated thanks.
