Hi all, sorry for the annoying question but needing some advice. Been offered a 300tdi D1 for 3k and they’re going for about 10k here in NZ at the moment. It’s all in good nick but cooked itself after a broken radiator cap, the owner thinks it might just be a head that needs replacing but isn’t sure. Question is, do you guys reckon it’s worth it and how much of a mission do you reckon it’ll be to fix? I’ve got a fair few tools and a bit of mechanical knowledge, but not sure if I’d want to do a engine swap if that’s what’s needed as it might be a bit beyond me. I’ve restored my series 3 from scratch but never touched the engine as it didn’t need any work.
