Thanks a lot Retroanaconda (nice name!)... I am not sure if I recall seeing a nut on the other side of that bolt against the mudguard. I will take another look tomorrow and revert.

Hi Can someone please let me know the function of the bolt circulated in the picture attached? I am trying to remove the brake shield. I have removed the two small bolts now it seems to me that the only thing that it is holding it in place is this big bolt. Does this bolt have any other function? N.B.: This picture is not from my Defender. I found it elsewhere, but it shows the bolt in question.
