  1. I spend most of my time unmodifying modifications and doing them properly on this bucket 😅 Found the culprit this evening, control wire for a rear light relay was joined into that brown/purple behind the dash clocks. It was shorted together and was blowing the fuse. Unrelated issue to my lack of ignition power though, more tracking of fuses now
  2. Also to note, it's a diesel model, no electric windows or Aircon setup. All wiring diagrams I've found state that it's just doing a blower relay but it doesn't make sense as to why it would stop everything from starting the jeep. This happened before last year but a wiggle of the fuse box sorted it and it hasn't come back until I pulled it into my shed.
  3. Unsure about the td5 part now, it's a 2004 defender, the fuse board is located in front of the gear selector. There are three sections, 2x rows on the right and 1x lower row on the passenger side, the last fuse here is a 30a fuse, no. 28. It's labelled as Aircon on the back of the cover but this is absolutely not the case 😅 It seems to control the last section of the key, the dash lights don't operate, no glow plugs and no fuel pump priming. The key then won't turn the engine over also. It's a definite short as it's blowing the fuse straight away. The brown/purple travels into the bulk head and then I can't figure out where it disappears to.
  4. Hello hive mind! I'm hoping someone will save me a lot of time. I'm not a defender fan but my neighbour brings his td5 to me every now and again to resolve some typical nonsense that a previous numpty has bodged. Fuse 28 intermittently blows, it's stopping the starter fuse, fuel pump and position 3 on the keys. The cable from the 30a fuse is brown with a purple stripe, it bangs out immediately, if I pull the fuse box from its mount disconnecting the earth path it has load but won't blow, but the fuel pump doesn't prime and no secondary dash lights. I can't trace where that brown/purple cable goes to.
