  1. use to tow with a 300 tdi 90, but got fed up of competing all day and then getting in a 90 to do a 100 or so miles home.

Upgraded to disco 3 TDV6 which I then chipped. Tows lovely, very smooth! infact as im sure Boothy has the same problem with his Nissan you forget your towing then you see the speed your doing and have to back off! Also lovely and comfy, climate control etc... and heated seat to get some warmth back in you after a day or 2 playing!

averaging between 20-24 mpg while towing.

Also towed across Europe twice in a land cruiser 100 series, also a fantastic place to be and effortless towing.

The disco's are getting around the 10k mark for a low end spec one now.

As Mark says the LAW are getting wise to all the old tricks now so be sensible, even if you don't get pulled if you have an accident or something?

  2. Great weekend!

We had a few problems as did everyone I think..... Thanks to Dan and Bert for the help at the end of the day!

Some very good sections! some took some extra thinking about because of the density of the trees and the width of the truck!

The special stage was fantastic! Can we have the times please Neil? Shame we clipped gate 9 and lost 50 points!

Big thanks to Paul Church for co-driving and supplying front winch, Kev Pocock for supplying the truck and Ross Wotherspoon for supplying rear winch!! biggrin.gif

Well Done to Neil and the AWDC team!

And yes it stayed on its wheels, well right side up! rolleyes.gif

So who's got some pics then?

  4. remember it is not a standard circlip. One side is flat and one in dished!

If all else fails bow I will have one kicking about some where or in stock!

But if your winch hasn't got one on maybe it has let go at some point, if this is happened some times they just dont like staying on any more, so maybe add a spec of weld when you fit the clip.

  5. HI,

The nuts are available from any Uk Warn distributor part number - 7616 they are £1 each +vat using the forum discounts. (see signature for discount)

You can also drill the casing and winch mount out to a 12mm hole and use a m12 nut and bolt, this is how I have always fitted the winch.

    Hope it helps.

    Dan
