  1. Quick update, the disco is fine now turned out to be the valve block causing all the problems the right hand side valve was knackered...
  2. No they have been brilliant, they have just kept changing tha bags for nothing, I will have to pay for the new part obviously but so far they have charged me nothing more from my initial visit
  3. Well just a quick update they replaced the driver side airbag again at the weekend and cut 10mm of the pipe that goes into tha bag just incase there was a problem with that, again this morning it was sat down on that side again, they think for certain its the valve block on that side, ive told them to go ahead and change it as they cannot not find any leaks anywhere as they have be checking it for leaks all the time, I jope this works ????
  4. I am never going to Know if no leak is showing, how do You suggest I test the valve block ??? as far as I can see there is not that much to the air suspension, compressor which houses the valve block pipes, the air bags themselves, ecu slab and the sensor, no leaks found on the bag valves and pipes, it goes up as it should and back down as it should in off road mode, raises to normal heigh in second of being started so it aint the compressor and I do not want to swap to springs.
  5. Ive found you can buy the valve block seperatley for around the £130 mark is it just worth swapping this out ???
  6. well had a call from the garage it went down again on that drivers side, again they have fitted another dunlop airbag and cut 10mm from the pipe in desperation and cannot find any leaks on the system, they are lost, i mentioned could it be a sticky valve he was not sure but it could be a possibility, can you just buy the valve block or is it better just to go out and get the full compressor and fit one ???, so far my experiences with My first disco has been a nightmare, knew they can be prone to problems but never expected this, could have bought the car twice over with the money ive spent on her in the last year.
  7. Lets face it they are always trying to get out of paying for things!!!
  8. Its a 7 seater ive read somehwere that changing to springs will cause problems with mot and things like that ?
  9. Well its been in the Garage all day and they have been up and down eveything to do with the air suspension spraying it with leak finder and cannot find anything leaking, they state its been sitting for over 4hrs and does not appear to have gone down, they are going to keep it over night and see what happens, he did state if it is down tomorrow he will replace the drivers side airbag again as it appears to go down by that side first, this will be the third one in as many days if it still goes down and he replaces it again and the same happens then we are all stuck as they say they cannot do much more than what they have. Over to you guys if you have possible anymore Ideas, the car is currently being looked at by AJD landrover in Hoddesdon herts if any of you have experience of them, they seem well clued up apart from this.
  10. Thanks Les, they are having it back in tomorrow to check all pipe work and connections, hopefully they can find the leak and cure it, so frustrating not knowing were its is coming from and the fact that having read so many other threads on various forums that state that running it like this could often burn the compressor out and i cant afford that at this time.. Thanks for you advice
  11. well got back up this morning and the back is down again, I am well and truely peed off now and lost!!!!
  12. took it back today they have changed the drivers side again as it was a small leak at the top were the air comes into the bag, he thinks he has had a dodgy batch of bags as when he fitted them both yesterday he noticed the new passenger one was leaking to, they are both now completely different makes to what he originally fitted, fingers crossed for tonight. Thanks Trev
  13. My Disco 2 started to sink mainly the drivers side but then eventually overnight both sides would drop, had the bags changed at my local indie today and Ive just checked it and its back down, im now at a loss, all was fine until last sat when it first happened, it raises up quickly when the engines is started and goes to off road height quickly but then drops down overnight even now with new bags, has anyone any Ideas what may be wrong ?????? Thanks
  14. Just for info the springs are scorpion racing standard height heavy duty springs
  15. Thanks Orange for the advice, any other opinions, want to be definatley sure before the car goes in at the moment I am leaning towards Orange's advice and not having the fitted when the shocks are changed unless anyone knows different.
  16. I purchased 4 koni heavy track shocks from ebay and also purchased the scorpion HD standard height springs the seller also had for sale, My question is to do with the springs, they are heavy duty ones can I fit these without it causing any real effect on my disco, it was an impulse buy, I do not have any winch or any extra weight on the front of the vehicle so just wandering if fitting heavy duty will cause me any problems or will they just act like standard springs. Thanks for any advice
  17. Already have the mondials on my Disco, what difference are the konis from standard ????
  18. I have a Disco 2 with a multipoint system fitted I get approx 180 - 190 miles on the motorway for roughly £30 of gas thats when it beeps at me and I switch to petrol, I get almost to my dads on merseyside from essex for £30 I think that is excellent for a v8 disco, someone who has not converted will be adding probably another £20 or more on top to cover the same distance
  19. LOL thats my disco u nicked it, it may be something i will look into, perhaps the wife will drive it with more confidence if she is not having to fight the steering all the time, the roads around here are carp and always being repaired for one thing or another and she is right the car is off in all directions.
  20. The Disco handles the corners well and is better than any other 4x4 ive had prob due to the ace system and I wouldnt want to change that, it just when you drive down all but the smoothest roads it tramlines a lot but I put tit down to the 18" wheels, the most annoying is any bumps feel like youve no suspension at all, but it does settle down straight after you have hit them, just thought the blisteins may dampen the thud a bit more like a decent car would..
  21. Thanks for the prompt reply its has the 18" tyres on it and it does tramline a lot (think thats what puts the wife off) as you seem always to be making steering adjustments, maybe I will just have to live with it as I wouldnt want to change the wheels unless i tried one with the smaller wheels to see if its worth it first.
  22. Hi I am new to the forums so firstly I would like to say hi to everyone... I am looking for advice on updating the suspension on my 2000 discovery 2 v8 es with ace and self leveling, Ive had the disco about 6 months now and have converted to it to lpg but I am a little dissapointed with the on road performance ie its a bit bouncy and feel all bumps. I have had a shogun and grand cheokee previous to this and i must say they deliver better on road performance than the disco, but overall I am more than pleased with it. I am thinking of changing the suspension and steering dampners to Bilsteins and all the bushes to poly bushes. My question is, is there going to be much difference between the standard setup is it going to be like night and day difference ??? The wife aint to keen on driving it due to the ride does not fill her with confidence, I use it mainly and dont really do any off road driving other than dirt tracks around farmers fields when I am shooting so dont need its full off road capabilities. Any advice would be very appreciated. Cheers Guys.
