  1. The rubber pipes dry out and crack at the ends where they join to the actuator, pump and t piece. Also on mine the long pipe had split under the air box, it's worth pulling it all out and checking for splits. I put mine in a dish of water, block one end and blow through it.

  2. The only number on the bearing is Nachi 308DS10DST2 . The SKF bearing number SKF 6203-2RS, was passed on to me by REJO, but when I gave this number to the bearing factors, he told me it was no where near the same as mine

  3. Just to make life easier for you the SKF bearing number is SKF 6203-2RS

I went to beaerins services with this number but it's nothing like mine.

The one I have is Nachi 308DS10DST2

    CAN ANYONE HELP?

  4. All,

Having been AA recovered last night i am in desperate need of a part number as need to get up and running again ASAP as due in perth for the Hill Rally as one of the safety units.

Does anyone have the part number for the Alternator mounting bracket number as mine is cracked which means lots of movement.

    SOMEONE HELP PLEASE

    Which model and engine ???

  5. Peter, mine is a 300 TDI compressor, don't know if that's different from a 200TDI. But it comes apart as you discribe, with a circlip and a little press on the edge. It came apart no problem.

    REJO

Is that the part number for the 300TDI or are they all the same?

    THanks ED

  6. If need the bearing its the same as the fan belt tensioner, just did it a few weeks ago.

It is the bearing, I tried bearing services without any luck. My local LR dealer wants to sell me a compete air con compressor. Does any one know where I might get a suitable bearing from?

  7. Is it possible to change the bearing in the front of the air con compressor, mine is noisy. Is the bearing worn or could it be some other problem. Someone suggested it should run in oil, is this right?

  8. I would have to totally disagree with you on this as on mine which is a 1996 UK market Disco the bracket is most definately bolted down using two of the bolts holding the aircon bracket to the timing cover. If it wasn't P*****g down again out side I would go and take a pic.

    Pete.

You're right Pete, it is bolted to the air con bracket. It was p*****g down when I checked it this morning.

Surprising how a thunder storm can affect your vision

  9. It looks like the brachet doesn`t bolt to the injector pump, but to the 2 bolts that hold the air con. pump.

    Help someone, please.

    Simes

You can't see it very well in that photo but the two bolts do go into the injector pump. Mine is a jap auto, don't know if UK autos are the same set up.

  10. Are you sure? It might have vacuum pipes but if it has water pipes that is a new one on me

    Can you post a pic?

Also what engine is fitted (may be self explanatory from the picture of course!)

    It's a 300TDI Jap import

  11. Check the ends of all vacuum pipesfor splits and cut off to where the split ends then re-fit, and if you check the unit underneath where the bottle jack is stored, you'll find that the pipe maybe split and come off. you can't see the unit but you can feel about for the fitting.
