Andy, solder up the bus, plop it in a tub with the tails hanging out, check it with a meter and the pot the whole thing in dilectric potting compound. Waterproof, vibration impervious and neat
Forget fuses mate, buy breakers.

4 years of non-smoking, sat in a Russian swamp, ran out of 100% deet, 400 fags in the back of the car to keep the traffic cops happy, mossie net on head, sleeping bag over the the top of that and Im still getting bitten and going mental from the noise of sitting in what sounded like a bee hive..... back on the fags
I hate mossies
big ones
little crappy ones
loud ones
quiet sneeky ones

Nah, the ARB seals wont take the pressure

Ahh Ashcrofts' bought it back out, Didnt see that Andy - cheers
- £1500 + vat hurts a bit though, I'll price it up and see what I can do anyway. Im still not convinced about using planetary gears with torque multiplication in a package like that but its a neat solution, I was thinking more along the lines of a splitter box infront of the main gearbox which would leave the pto open for winch use...
hmm
-
I'm trying to assess the financial feasability of making a batch of underdrives for Landies
I would leave your normal gearing but when operated would give between 17 and 30% reduction to all gear selections, effectively turning an LT77 or R380 into a 20 speed :-)
anyone interested? and whats a fair price? its looking like being around a grand and a bit
Cheers

there are loads of maps on the Ozi explorer websites - worth trawling through, Im afraid I cant help you out with that area of the world though
Ozi lets you stictch maps, on a vaguely related tip try looking at Google Earth, maps can be downloaded from there
-
I quite like the cheapo laptop with Oziexplorer and a bucket load of MP3's chucked on running through a stereo with an auxiliary imput. loads of storage for uploading photos/specialist interest er-hemm materials and maps - so cheap second hand it doesn't matter if they periodically die

I shot my mates lightforce bunny lamp with a .22Lr and its still running.
I had 240's on pig and took them to Ladoga, hit them with every tree in the correlian forest and they were undamaged. its good fun when mupets with HID lights "forget" to dip them - simply respond by burning the paint off their bonnets, they soon learn.
ahh and I can undercut Devon if you want any :-)
hehehe

Gaffer tape it on, sounds daft, works blindingly well

I like the idea of just using the webbing for fly lines as its pretty compact but not for winching, I had Dux Diamond rope which is good gear until it kinks on the winch and then its a royal pain in the soft bits - the abraison resistant cover tried its best but still got mullered. All said and done the line never broke and we kicked the pooh out of it :-)

oops, sorry, posh mig with spool gun, Ive got a spool gun that fits my tig as well.....
BOC will sort you out with a nice ickle argon bottle for about £28 if I remember correctly

If all the linkages are groovey - have you tried the bucket load of wd40 in the barrel and operate the lock with the key 10 or 20 times routine?

Beer money mate, Terry does me a good deal because I do strange things....
I got disc brake conversions from Dani and Wolfgang, solid as a rock engineering - pm me an address and a time thats convenient and I'll pop down
I managed to blag a spare housing to set the tooling up, still undecided as to do a full bolt on unimog to Landy conversion by remaking the mog axles or just use an NP205 or Gaz transfer case and leave the mog's unmolested....
choices choices!

If you ring Explorer then talk to Terry Walsh - all round nice bloke, they are the UK importers for Pro-comp
-
I'll try that again except with my name spelt correctly
I've got a pair of eye/eye fitting 14's in the garage left over from pigs build,
Sorted my mog axles out now
