  1. Cheers for the replies folks - I'll get the parts ordered and set to, although I'll take your advice and maybe leave the rear seal alone for now!
  2. hmmm.... nobody done this repair before then??!!
  3. Hi Folks, just looking for some quick advice from any gearbox gurus out there. I have been losing some oil from the front output shaft area of the transfer box on my 1997 300tdi 110 of late and therefore figured it is probably time to renew the oil seals on the output shaft. I was intending to do both the front and rear output shaft seals at the same time - as far as I know they have both original parts and the vehicle has now done over 150k miles. I have read Les Hensons wonderful post on the subject of replacing the transfer box rear output shaft oil seal and bearing and I was just wondering if the proceedure was the same for the front output shaft oil seal? IMHO our Les should be nominated for a knighthood in the next new years honours list for his services to the global LR community and helping to keep more older LR's on the road!
