I'm a bit confuzzled about the BM Blue springs and wondered if anyone could shed any light. I'm currently rebuilding a 200 Tdi 90 which will have a winch bolted on the front ans wanted a 2" lift. Now I've fitted BM springs before to my other 90's and heres the confusing thing. I asked for a 3" lift from Mail Order 4x4 for my other 200 Tdi (front & rear winches) which they obliged and both axles sping sets came as BA2102 (and it most definately is a 3" lift) Now I fitted a 2" lift to my 300 Tdi 90 a few months ago & when I dug the paperwork out they were stated as BA2102's as well
Guess what happens next, when I picked up the 2" lift for the re-build and asked for the front springs to allow for a winch both axles came as BA2102 once again Thing is, the backs fine but even with the bulkhead, engine & gearbox in and with 2 of us sat on the front crossmember the springs are that high at the front they bend cos the axle angle is so steep.
Can anyone shed any light on this? I can only think theres a possibility the wrong springs were in the box fitted to the front (both boxes labelled BA2102) so I am gonna try swapping the exle sets to see if it makes any difference. I also contact Bearmach today who confirmed BA2102's are correct for the application in my case.
