disconnecting the battery with the engine running isnt wise, as it can stop the alternator regulating the voltage properly.
If the Alternator is no good it wont matter
Tried it lots of times and never had a problem.
If the Alternator no good, it can't keep the engine running because it can't produce enough power to power the pump

Hi Mike the best way I know is to start up your landy then remove the negative terminal off the battery, then put your lights on and see if it cuts out.
If it does the alternater is no good

Give it a soak of WD 40 that should help it off.

Hi, so longs the holes are small they should be easy to weld, but the rust will come back.
I would weld it for now.

Hi Cabbageboy, the best thing to do is spray easystart down the air intake,if it runs brefley, then it will be a fuel problem not a timing problem??

Hi Rob, have you had the clocks or any of the lights out lately? you might have trapped a wire fitting them back in?? if not check bulb holders?
Good look Ash

Hi Alan, all depends what colour it is? none metallic paints are a lot easier to paint, you can also wet flat and polish any imperfections out, like runs flies etc.
If you are going to try and paint it yourself,I would suggest transport paint [synthetic type ]
but apply quite a few coats.
To do it yourself I would say it will cost around £150 ish in materials.
There are a few paint shops in Nottingham,I could get there numbers for you if you want??

My Csw has no bulkhead behind the seats, and allows my seat to go back further, allowing me a more comfortable drive
also a clock in the dash display and alpine windows in the sides.
