  3. Hi all I hav a '99 Freelander 1.8 3 door. I have a major issue with rainwater flooding the underside of the, mainly drivers side, carpets. It floods when raining, even when stationary so I don't believe its coming from underneath. It appears to start at the front right lower corner. I've had the targa sunroof off and poored water down the drain hole, this seems to be running out of the bottom ok. Just wondered if there was a common issue anyine new of that I could look at???? Thanks for looking Regards Mike
  4. Hi all I recently replaced a leaking master/slave cylinder set on my '99 freelander 1.8. Being a complete novice with the vehicle this was only made possible due to this excellent forum and in particualr a 10 step guide from 'Orange' that I found. Thanks for that mate. Looking at other issues it appears that I need to replace my rear diff mounts as there are one or two bangs coming particualrly when I change from reverse to first gear. I wondered if anyone could help me with an idiot guide to changing these???? Thanks
  5. Hi All I recently had a problem whereas I was driving along and, whammy, Couldn't get a gear. Having had a similar problem on a previous car I suspected the clutch slave cylinder had gone and, sure enough, there was fluid dripping from the underneath as you would find. However, I have just taken off the slave cylinder (thankfully an easy job as kindly described by a colleague on here) and was feeding the pipework off towards the master cyliner when I noticed that the pipe had worn very badly between the final clip and the slave cylinder. Sure enough, when my friend pushed the clutch in, fluid squirted from a tiny hole in the worn area, NOT from the slave cylinder!!! So just a helpful tip to all, have a quick check of the pipework, especially in the area I have mentioned. I am going to try a repair and top up the fluid from the pot on the master cylinder, but failing that its £60 to replace!!!
