I'm in a bit of a pickle.
my Td5 defender has sloppy steering which was getting progressively worse over the last 2 weeks or so. I investigated and decided it was the steering drop arm ball joint. So i ordered one and it arrived and i set out to make the repair.
it turned out the link on the passengers side was the dodgy one and was a different part to the one ordered and is officially called the drag link end tie.
i have sent for a new one. the problem lies now with the steering bar. its bent and i cant get the drag link end tie off. does the end tie have a LH or RH thread, does prizing the end open help, and what is the end link called at the drivers side?
if i order the steering bar, is it a tube as described on some sites? or drag link? or steering arm? some sell a pair and i only want the front one.
attached, i hope is a photo of the 2 end links.
if any one can direct me to a site that sells the tube/arm bar thing and if they have different threads so i can remove the drivers side thing it would be very appreciated.
