I have a 96 300TDI and I'm planning to upgrade/renew my suspension.
I do light off road and some easy green laning, nothing extreme so I don't want lift.
I was going to go with -
HD Springs and Gas shocks
or
HD springs and Std Oil shocks
The original kit has done 90k, the backs seem alright but the front's starting to sag a little due to some extra hardware I've added.
What's the general opinion.
Cheers

Bogmonster, do I need to up the pressure's if I add weight ?
I added a Steering gaurd, diff gaurd and A-bar to my Disco 1 yesterday and I can feel the extra weight on the front end.

Hello, before you give me stick for worrying about the CD player in a 90 , hear me out.
My old man bought himself an '06 XS 90 (25k mls) 3 months ago from an official LR dealership. (not cheap , hense me asking the question)
It went back in as the CD player regularly skipped. (December)
Problem solved at LR dealer, in for a couple of hours, new unit fitted.
New CD now won't play, 2 weeks after getting it back.
It's obviously going back again but anyone heard of this before ?
Cheers All

Challenging day, 2 bulbs and a new handbrake gaitor
-
it's a common problem i'm afraid, usually worse when there are inclement weather conditions such as snow or flooding - usually the time when LR''s come into their own
You are soooo right, it's got much worse since we've had snow

I have a 95 300 Auto and whenever I go out in it I get a "smile" on my face.
If I go off road the "smile" just get's bigger.
Is this normal ?
I've seen other Disco drivers waving to me who appear to experiencing the same problem
-
Where are you ?
-
I wish one the the old hands had replied, I have the same problem on my 95 300.
Drives me nut's
-
I bet you wish you'd never asked
For what it's worth, I have a 95 300, with 2 Fobs & immobilizer etc etc.
A relevant Workshop manual is great investment if you have a Disco
Good Luck

Anyone getting out anywhere in NW today ?
Hopefully more snow coming
-
Stick some fine powdered graphite in it, will probably sort it temporarily but you may need a new barrel and key in the long term.
CHEERS bOGMONSTER.
I THINK i'M AT THAT POINT NOW, WENT OUT THIS MORNING AND IT WON'T BUDGE
-
Hi, the ignition barrel is getting a bit dodgy lately on my 95 300, 87k.
The key won't turn, a bit of jiggling and it's right, but it's getting worse.
Any ideas ?

Did mine with the EGR. The difference isn't massive but it's better.
MPG 's not as good

Hi, I've got 245/70's on my 95 300tdi.
No fit or cut issues.
Clearance is fine.
Cheers

it could be the fork has began to wear though the pivot point, air in the system, worn leaking slave cylinder, try bleeding it first and see what happens
Mine did the same, did the slave and master cylinder.
Problem solved
Clutch fork would have been my next possibility.
Good luck
PS. Clutch & Slave is not an expensive job

Gutted, got the Disco, got the tyres..........but no snow

as its been said i didnt notice any better performance with the k&n just whined more through the snorkel
Thanks for that , I'll go back to Standard on the filter

anything to report on economy? or indeed emmissions...
The economy is slightly better over the last few weeks, although I'm currently running down a full tank to compare to the full tank pre mods (same type of use). This will take a few more days, then I'll have a tangable comparison.
The emmissions appear better but not tested, I used to get a black belch from the exhaust on start up, rev up high and when it changes to top at 50mph (auto). I still get some smoke but it's not black and there's less of it.
The performance has improved (not a sports car) but there is some improvement, more noticeable from 50 -70.
The K&N I fitted was a panel filter direct replacement, not an induction kit, so there is no intrusive induction noise.

Same problem here, Devon 4x4 want £62 for the kit.
Where did you get yours for £25 ?
Thanks

That'll teach me to be enthusiastic.

Hi all, I have a problem and need some directon.
The Brake warning light on the dash is flickering occasionally, more noticeably down hill ?
Only other symptom, the handbrake is right at the top of it's travel and just holding.
Fluid is OK.
Me thinks brake pads ?, front or rear ?, if it's handbrake what do I need to look at ?
Cheers
