  1. well thanks again for all your help, thats answerd my question,i will have to look out for some off road tyres as this car is not for road use anyway, thanks again carl.
  2. Hi all,i have a 89 2.4 td manual rr, this is what happend today tried to climb a hill at my stables, the o/s on grass and n/s on flags (paving stones),the wheels on the grass just span and i thought that with keeping the n/s on the flags it would grip and help but it didnt, all the power went to the grass side,so after trying for 3/4 hour, the only way i could get it to move was to keep pressing the foot brake at the same time as giving it some gas to put drive to the other side and in low, i know this might seem a daft thing to ask but i also have a shogun and it goes up there no problem, so i thought after watching range rovers on you tube were they go and what they do i was very surprised,if this is not normal what could the problem be,like i said it seems a daft question but thought you more experienced range rover owners might know better
  3. Hi and a big thank you to all that have tried to help me please give your self a pat on the back, spent all morning on my back and yes some one had adjusted the transmision brake so it was locked on so now it goes like a dream thanks very much once again carl.

  5. what i did notice when i jacked it up was that the of side rear wheel seemed to turn as if it was under load

  7. Hi just like to say hello as i am a new member to this site, right i have just got a 1989 2.4 vm td manual range rover, and the only way i can describe the problem is like when you try to move a car in gear,my mate who brought it back on a slide off bed recovery truck had to lift the bed right up to get it to role off,as it came off it was as i said just like being in gear but wasnt, the car will drive but only in low and very jerky,if you put it in high its like trying to pull away with your hand brake on and its not, so if some one could please shed some light on this for me i would be very grateful.
