  1. Well we just came back from holiday in France. My 2005 Freelander Td4 did well for over 3.000km until we finished our lunch on our way back. When I used the key fob, the doors unlocked. I put the key in the ignition all lights on the dash went on, the radio did it, but I could not start the engine. My windows and alarmlights etc. did it but it was like the immobiliser was not set off. We looked into the manual, and yes, my wife was right. The key fob had to be synchronised again with the car. You do that by quickly pushing 5 times on one of the buttons on your key fob and do that close to your car. We drove off, we stopped for diesel no problems, we drove 50 meters to park the car for a quick stop and when we wanted to leave, same story again. Now I'm back and haven't got the problem but changed the batteries in the key fob. Perhaps this is helpfull for your problem.

    Good luck.

  2. Hello people,

Because of this forum and others. Yesterday I've changed the crankcase filter for the BMW Filter. I share some pics with you:

frh_520106_images_1073_17140108000000_13201908893527_loc.jpg This is how the Land Rover Filter looked. I drove about 60.000km with it, but I don't know if it was changed before. The car is from 2005, I have it sinds 2008 and drove 60.000km with it.

  3. There will be a market for this one, but I also think it is not done.

However in an era where there are 4 drs Porsches. TVR is owned by Russians, Land Rover in the hands of TATA. Bentley owned by Germans and builds a Continental GT Design Series China and a Flying Spur Speed China forthe China market. Well, than there must be room for a FWD Land Rover. :(;)

  4. I have a 2005 Td4 with about 145.000km on it. It drinks about 8,4 ltr/100km I think that is about 29mpg. I drive 35km to work and 35km back on the motorway. Also important to check your tyre pressure regualary.

  5. I've fitted the Heko ones to my 5 door.

Is there not some double sided strips of tape as well in the box ?

Anyway I fitted the two stainless clips per side on the front but I think I also got two per side for the rear too. The clips are just to ensure that the glass doesn't come into contact with the deflector when it is lifted. I seem to remember double sided tape is also attached to the outside surface of the deflector which adheres to the internal face of the rubber window trim, hence the insrtructions to keep the window closed to help the adhesive to take.

Your correct about the front ones having to be " twisted " into position but it's quite straightforward and they wont snap.the rear ones will have a slight notch out of them and this should be placed at the rear of the door .

They do work and also look factory .

    HTH's

    Don

    +1 ;)

  6. If you read my quote I have said a front set previously I purchased only the full rear set!!!!!!

Hi am thinking about purchasing a front set of lamp guards for a facelift Freelander (2005) does anyone know how to fit them i.e. does the wing liner have to come off? And how do you where to drill the holes in the bumper and plastic wings?

 In september 2009 there were replies about the front light guards.

  7. Sorry you are quite right so i have taken a photo to share with you all, it's a pretty good job my daughters quad was available or else i don't know how i would of got up the hill! :P:P:P

I think than that is due to a lack of your driving capability. I've been to other places with my Freelander.

Luckely your daughter knows what to do.

  9. Is anyone on this forum from The Netherlands?

I have been working on my Freelander since a few months, now and then I run into problems and are looking for someone with similar problems or who knows how to solve them.

It would be cool to meet up with some fellow Freelander owners now and then

    Anyone?

Hoi, treffen we elkaar hier ook. :)

Maar, helaas woon nog steeds in het zuidelijkste puntje van Nederland. Eijsden

    Groet,

    Silkwood

  10. OK ta i didnt realise that the wing liner had to be removed to fit the front pair

Hello, I'm silkwood and also new here, I'm from the Netherlands. I drive a Freelander 5drs from oct. 2005.

My English is not that good, so what is a wing liner?

I bought lightguards front and rear on ebay in GB, because they are cheaper there incl. postage than here in the Netherlands. I fitted them myself, and I'm not that technical but is was very easy.

Looks good i think. Look at:

Correct is that cleaning is difficult.

    Silkwood.
