  1. havent got the mounts from the BW,hence the question,my propshaft needs to be somewhere round +/- 690mm
  2. I have now kindof fitted this combo to our rangie, but Im experiencing some difficulties that I was hoping some of you knowledgable gentlemen could shed some light on.I have used the old gearboxmounts from the 230 jobbie that was there before, but now the whole thing sits crushed up towards the gearbox tunnel,do I need diffrent brakets for the borgwarner? And the front propshaft is too short, any idea what the right one is called? cheers! sjur
  3. Im bringing this one up again, not really relating to the lt77 issue, but the same project.I have left the lt77 since I got hold of a good r380 that Im mating with a Borg Warner transfer, but now I cant find anywere to put the handbrake! the out thingy for the oilcooler is kindoff in the way,got the stering on the left side of the car you see... Is there any point fitting an oilcooler? its not fitted on this one,but I have all the bits laying around here somewere.
  4. Hi,Im bringing thisone up again, have got the old box out,but it seems as though the inputshaft on the replacement box(v8) is about an inch shorter... crisis?
  5. Thanks for the input,I think Ill just go ahead, it got a fairly new clutch in it (I changed the clutch, but not the oil, ohhh why,oh why...(well there was that about the previous owner claiming to have changed all the fluids though))just get hold of a v8 thingy just in case, can allways take it back if I dont need it...
  6. Thanks for the input, its defenetly a lt77,but a later version with an oilcooler wich is great since we use our rangie for a lot of longdistance driving.Does the diffrent sized outputshaft mean that I need a clutch from a V8? I really have to get going on this as the big freeze is aproaching and my wife has no intentions on taking on kingwinter in the standin car,a honda civic....
  7. Hello! Gretings from Norway! Our converted 85 rangie has suffered from accute gearbox failure syndrome. It has a disco driveline, engine and transmision, the gearbox is totally, totally gone (it did a thousand kms + with water in the oil). I have managed to get hold of a replacement, but its from a 93 v8 with a borg warner transfer, the bellhousing obviously needs changing, but will it mate to my engine? Considering I have just a short time available on the carlift, I would like to be as prepared as possible when doing the surgery. So if anybody out there has some opinions and /or experience on the matter, it will be most appreciated. Sjur
