  1. Disco 1 94 Tdi 200 210k klm

No ARB's when bought it handled badly on the road shockies worn and the springs had sagged.

Fitted a 2" lift with replacement shockies and springs with poly air bags in the rear.

It now handles great on the road and has excellent travel off road.

I have a video some where I'll have a go at attaching it.

  2. no idea but why would you want no anti roll bars?

you can just remove them as long as bars and drop links are removed will pass the mot fine

    Thanks for the replies.

Also sorry a few more facts may help, we bought the Tdi200 1993 and did not realise there were no anti-roll bars, the springs and shocks were worn and had dropped, these were replaced with a 2" lift set of springs and shock absorbers to suit. The handling on road and articulation off road is excellent.

Some here in Aussie have said that the 200Tdi were not fitted with anti-roll bars but this is not much use in the event of an accident and insurance inspection. So I was hoping to find out the facts and not sure how to go about it.

    Cheers

  3. Right, my starter motor started sticking when it was really cold, in that it seemed like the solenoid was sticking and it took a few attempts for it to engage the flywheel before starting, then when it got warmer it stopped, so I put it down to the cold. Went to start it today and it started playing up again. It started once after a few tries, then I thought I'd try again and starter motor just turns now, it's not engaging at all.

Any thoughts anyone? If it's any use, I changed a heater hose just before and got water everywhere, but I doubt this would do it would it?

    Oh and it's a 200tdi.

    Cheers!!

My Tdi200 would not start it was an earth lead down to the chassis below and behind the starter, look good until it was touched then the lead fell away from the terminal Good Look

  4. 1994 Disco Tdi 200, I have been told that the early Discos were not fitted with Anti Roll Bars front or rear is this true?

Is there a record of chassis numbers when LR started fitting ARB's.

Our Disco has all the axle lugs and body brackets to fit the ARBs, so they have either been removed or not fitted at manufacture.

My main concern is original equipment and insurance the handling is surprisingly good 2" lift with polyair bags in the rear. Thanks

  5. Hi, confusd on this one. I have a 200tdi disco , been driving all day no problems , stopped in a car park for about an hour ,then when I went to start the landi , it wouldnt have it ,all the dash light,s came on fine ,solenoid was clicking but it wouldnt fire , I managed to get a jump and that got me home , when I turned it off at home same problem wouldnt start??? , checked the battery but thats ok , lights work, oelectric windows ok , then tryed it again started first time just been out and had another go starts and runs fine , any ideas ??? ( by the way its a auto diesel)

I had a similar problem with a Tdi200 Manual Disco the earth strap from the starter to the body looked OK until I rattled it and the braid separated from the crimp terminal. Replaced the strap and all was happy in Disco world! For a little while anyway.
