Hi I had this sort of problem with my RR DSE and found it was the neg battery connection, the post had pitted and was making a bad connection, cleaned it up with a fine file, slapped on some vasaline, problem solved. May help. Brian

Hi Guys. Just popped over from the RR forum to try and get some answers to a problem I have with the Freelander 1998 1.8 K series engine. One evening the FL spluttered to a halt, started in a fashion and then stopped again, and now refuses to start at all, all I get is the odd cough and nothing else. Changed disi cap, rotor arm, new leads, crank sensor, fuel pump, but still only getting the odd cough. Anyone any ideas what could be going on, any help would be gratefull. Regards Brian
