  2. is there a cost for support trucks ? That video has far to much water in it for the v8 guys :-) . I m looking at next year to be fair,

No cost for support trucks, but remember, NO EXTERNAL ASSISTANCE ALLOWED. If you use it, 40.000 point penalty. You have to take all in the truck. About the water, you just need to know how to swim.... We have people with V8 (Range Rover and Santana)

  4. From 3 to 11 Setember 2011 - 8th edition

7 days of hard work, few hours slepping, rocks, mud, water water and water.

Remember, "no outside repairs". You have to get to the end only with the spares you take in the truck.

We have Portugueses, Spanish, French and hope to have at least 5 UK teams.

Martin Stainer, Paul Bass (Challenger4x4), Jim Marsden (Gigglenpin4x4) are some of the names we expect to have between us.

You will for sure enjoy the country, the people, the food and of course the wine/SUPER BOCK. And a great time offroading.

    Hello Adrian,

  6. It has all gone a bit pair shaped as far as the results go, Dan was told last night that they were leading by six hours so very exciting. The boys didn't get back to camp until 5am and were the only team to complete the stages yesterday. Anyway they got up this morning to find they were actually in six place and two teams that are ahead of them have scores for two days that they didn't even compete in so nobody know what on earth is going on now. I am so disappointed for them, hopefully the scores will get sorted and the best team will win. But they are all completely exhausted and the score thing put a bit of a downer on it today.

  7. Hello Lucy here,

It was a hard day yesterday! The had a 60K stage to complete and one of the sections was particularly difficult. Paul, Andy, Nev and Adi took a look at it and Paul decided that he felt it was too dangerous to attempt, not sure wether he had made the right decision or not the whole team didn't do the section, potentionally jepodising their 2nd place position. Anyway when they got back to camp at around 9pm last night they were told that nobody had done this particular section apart from the Russians (who were first) and they tore the front axle off of their truck and are now out of the competition. Which means.............Paul, Nev, Andy and Adi went out today is 1st place !!!!!!!!!The car is doing really well and Dan is working so hard to do running repairs and servicing overnight while the boys get some sleep. The whole team is getting on and working really well together and Andy is even having outdoor showers!!!!!

I haven't heard anything yet today but will post as soon as I do. It is the last day tommorrow and hopefully it will be a fairly easy day as the presentations etc are tommorrow night so I would imagine it will be a fairly early finish.

    Speak soon, keep fingers crossed!

    Hello,

They had their long day yesterday and didn't return to camp til way past midnight!! Had a few steering issues half way through a 100 mile stage but they were only the second team to have completed the course so going really well. Went out today in second, so getting exciting now!!!

  9. Paul,

last year, the trailer park was in the city, and our north and south parks, were very far. You must have someone that drives the 300 tdi in the parks of the competition. I think, that there is no way for you to acess all days to the trailer park in the city.

We add an extra car, that our friends used to drive everydays to the city and bring us the fuel, there where 40 km and we only saw them if we arrived early in the camps, witch was only in 2 days. The others, they leave the fuel and in the morning, we had already left when they arrive. This was becouse they did not sleepe in the camps.

During the competition, we carried all the spares we had. In the fuel car, there where only a few things left. You make 100 km during one day, so, if you neede a spare part, you would better have it with you.

I hope i helped. It is a great competition, freandly peopel, and amazing site seing. Enjoy.

    Hi all..

Does anyone know for sure how far the "trailer park" is from the competition area ?

My dilemma is do i use a 300Tdi 110 as my tow car which has same engine, gearbox, suspension etc as my comp car in fact a complete car of spares!

Or do i use a chipped TD5 Discovery which has quite a bit more power & comfort for the long journey but has no parts in common with the comp car!

If the car park is fairly close by & the 110 is accessible if i need to rape it for spares...then i will use that, but if it is miles away & locked up all week.....well you get the idea!!

    Any clues? :huh::huh:

    Paul

  10. I hope that the Lady from the hotel in Deva, still is so ""FRIENDLY"" to all of you, most of all, to Adrian Turner...

Adrian, try to loose the keys from the room, and ask for a spare one.... You will see how nice she is...:lol:

P.s. Be carefull in driving in Romenia, and don´t drive in the night. Last year, our truck when comming home, was stopped and they tried to take the cars..
