  1. Hi guys, i fitted this glo plug conversion kit to my 88 ser11, i bought from Paddocks best £25 ive spent for ages 15 seconds pre heat & she starts even in this cold snow.

thanks for the advice every one,

    Regards Garry. :):):):)

  2. Try Paddock spares for their part number GAM100, its a set of 4 parallel wired plugs with the new wiring to suit. £17 something if i remember correctly.

Dont get parallel wired plugs for a 2.5D they are not what you want as the threads are different.

Thanks Phil, i will get in touch with them asap.

    cheers Garry.

  3. The plugs were wired in series so that the voltage measured at each one will decrease.

It is common to change to a later type that are not series connected.

    John

Hi John, ive tried to locate some modded heater plugs, tried few suppliers just drawn a blanc.

would you know of a supplier that could help?

    regards Garry.l

  4. It's a Series, it's always gonna be like driving a bus! You could spend years trying to correct something that probably left the factory like that...

I think your right, i was just hoping that there might be some other cure or conversion,

i spoke to two other guys with series11s today theyve same symtoms done everthing

but still same, think ill have to grin&bear it.

if someone has managed to sort this out it would be nice to share your findings.

    thanks for your replies Garry.

  5. Is the relay unit on the front crossmember stiff due to lack of lubrication ? This usually results in constant overcorrection. What about the steering arm on the bottom of the relay ? Is it loose on the shaft ? Tierod ends , worn? Steering arms on swivel housings loose? Front or even rear spring ''U'' bolts, loose? Toe in /toe out ?

    bill.

Ive done all usual checks &replaced ball joints but still same, steering is easy no tight spots, get 45 mph

your constantly correcting. Forggot to say its 88 ser 11a ish 1970.

    thanks for reply, Garry.

If it's just one that's knackered can't you measure the other one - the chassis rails are identical.

Thanks for the info, problem i have its pushed to one side as wellas inward.

Cheers Garry. :) ps just printed this out, exactly what i needed.

  7. Arghhhhh, it was all going so well, which means disaster is just around the corner.

Last night we set about bleeding the brakes, but it wasnt to be. This turned into find which joint(s) leaking, tightening it up, trying again, and repeating a number of times.

As we had made new lines up, it appears the "flares" arent sealing properly, which means stripping the whole thing again, and trying to re-flare the offending pipes/joints.

Its not like Im short of jobs to do, Im gagging to get the vehicle finished, but I think its spent too long in the garage and is now scared to come out

Did you use cutting grease or tallow when you flared pipes?

if you didnt try, it it gives you smoother finish.

    Garry.
