  1. Hi, does anyone know where I can get the code for my dads freelander radio/cassette? He had to take the battery off to charge and now its asking for a code, which he can't find in his handbook. Thanks
  2. Many thanks guys, will pass this on, he's going to have a look tomorrow, and either try and get it fixed or sell as is. Wish I had the cash as I think its a lovely motor and then get it done myself. Thanks again.
  3. Hi, my dad got his problems sorted with not starting, however he was coming back from his brothers the other day and the clutch went to the floor, and stayed there. I'm guessing/hoping that this is just the hydraulics and not the actual clutch. It's a year 2000 , month 09 , Freelander 1800 Xi. We've browsed forums, but can't be a 100% sure which clutch cylinder set up it is, did they change in 2000? He's on at me to get it sold for him as is, but I was hoping I may be able to get it fixed first as he will loose a lot of money as he's just had it serviced, new cam belt, brake discs etc. TIA
  4. Hi, Well, he ended getting a mobile mechanic out, did the usual, compression test etc etc. He found that one of the leads didn't make contact very well, so he said he'd need to buy all new leads and charge the battery up over night, which he did, and paid him. However, when he put the battery back on it still didn't run! makes a better turning over noise, as if its attempting to start, but still won't go. I'll see if I can get up at the weekend and have another look. Cheers
  5. Thanks for that, will take a look today. Not too sure on the turnover, again, will check. Thanks He lives near Warwick.
  6. Hi all, Happy New Year, first post here, on behalf of my dad! My dad bought a 2000, 1.8 xsi Freelander recently, had cam belt etc done. Been great for a few weeks, but the other day would not start. He had someone take a look, they checked it had a spark, petrol was getting through etc, all seems fine, but will just not fire up, just keeps trying to turn over. I'm thinking maybe the immobiliser or other electrical fault maybe? Just wondered if anyone had any ideas really as he can't afford to get it towed away just yet to have it looked at. Will try and pop over later to have a look for him, just wondered if anyone had any ideas to try out. It's by far the best car he's had for a long time, but he's on about getting rid now as it's had problems in its first month of ownership. I'm hoping it can be sorted, fingers crossed. Thanks in advance.
