I had mine fitted into the headlining just to the side and behind the head position on both sides. Works fine for me!

hi there,
my mate is doing some work on my truck at the moment and required a list of parts etc, one of which was paint. how do i find out the paint code so i can go to the "local" land rover deler and get hold of some.
cheers
I had a similar thing but I got in touch with Bill at www.paintman.co.uk, sent him a washer with the colour and he matched it. He was very quick with posting.

true but the only big things i tend to put in is logs anyway
I am just having my 90 van changed to a truck cab basically because I have squished my roof so badly with trialling and greenlaning. I'm having a chequer plate lift up lid fitted to the rear bin (using range rover tailgate struts) - so I get some dry storage. The price of truck cabs at the moment seems to be quite high - seen some going for around £300 on Ebay - usually they are around £150. Not sure why?

Looking for +ves & -ves.
I've had a HT before, no real issues, sometimes wished I had more visability at junctions, but the trade off was increased security for the rear.
90 I am buying currently has windows in the back which I've said to leave in for now, as it seems a lot lighter in there, however I'm wandering about security.
Any issues with windows getting broken when offroading?
They seem to be leaking at present, and probably rattle, so they'll be getting sealed up anyway.
I would say it depends on what sort of off-roading you are doing.
I have a 90 van with no windows, which was a blessing! With the trialling and greenlaning I have done, I have managed to square off the passenger side roof at the rear. I've seen a fair few alpine and side windows getting popped too.
As storage is not important to me, I am now having the 90 truck cabbed.

i think 200k is a killer for price 1500-1800
You might get that sort of price down South at the moment - there's a rush on them and they are getting good prices these last couple of weeks, with the snow but fuel price increase might put a stop to it.

235/85R16 is the new money version, plenty of choice in that size last I looked. Then again, I believe 255/something is a slightly wider equivalent that's also popular.
Thank you for the replies. I'll have a surf now I've got some names, although adding new numbers into thye mix is confusing.

Hi I use a magmount on the roof, get a flat piece of steel plate about 5 inch square and stick it to the underside of the roof with silicone or epoxy. The mag mount sticks to the plate through the alloy roof and can be removed easily.

Top tip! Thank you Max

TTI Cb's are good - I think I have the 880!
Those mounts pictured above (known as PSM-1 mounts) are fantastic - I have one!
And 4x4cb.com are great for value and service!
Many thanks for all the replies.

Recommend........hmmm!!
There is Dartford 4x4 if you like muddy puddles and a few man made bumps.
Woodlands is closed for the foreseeable future - 'remodelling' apparently
Not really sure about East Sussex, but I can't think of any. There is a site at Flimwell that opens for events every now and then, but it's normally set-up by clubs rather than a general P&P. There are a couple in Essex that might be within your range, but...
There is, of course, Slindon in West Sussex, but that might be a bit of a trek for you. Excellent site with something for everyone and is used regularly for competitions (have a search for Slindon).
Other than that, not much really...
Thank you - now I've got some names of sites I'll have a surf!

To be honest I know pretty much less than nothing on this subject but have just started looking myself.
Thunderpole are really helpful people and have a good starter kit but it depends how much you want to spend and what you need the radio to do.

not much help i know.....sorry
Thank you for the reply. I'll try them.
I suppose I'm looking to spend max £100 and all I need it to do is keep me in contact with greenlaning buddys. Oh and be able to take aerial off when trialling. I've heard of a Midland radio but no idea what model would suit.
Any suggestions please?

Does anyone have any recommendations for CB radio, aerial and mount to go on my 90 truck cab please?
Cheers

I was hoping someone may be able to recommend a 750 tyre, and where to get them from.
I currently run Colway Atacamas 750 x 16R on my 90 but I understand that Colway went out of business a couple of years ago. I want to replace them with a similar type tread which suit me for RTVs and towing a caravan.
Cheers

Can anyone recommend any pay and play sites in Kent and East Sussex please?

Untill this year I have always been asked for proof of the imobaliser being fitted. It is a Thatcham imobaliser and I have the paper work for the fitting. This time I got the best deal from NFU and they took my word for it being fitted and didnt query my no claims bonus. I have been asked diferent questions by diferent call handlers from the same firm. My rule being if I dont like the call handler go some were else.
If an insurer doesn't ask for proof at the start, they definately will when you go to make a claim. They're happy to take the annual premium but any excuse not to pay out!
-
What sort of immobiliser, fitted by whom, and what proof do they require?
It's a different ball game if they want a Thatcham approved one fitted by an approved installer or if they are happy to take your word that you've stuck a battery cutoff switch on it somewhere.
I had this when I moved my insurance to Adrian Flux. They confirmed they didn't require a Thatcham, and were happy with written confirmation that I had a hidden switch fitted that stopped the solonoid to the fuel pump.

I had an issue insuring my 90 van - I had it with one company (Marks & Spencer) for 18 months until I rang to change a driver and then they decided it was a commercial and said they couldn't insure it. After a bit of jumping up and down on my part they agreed to refund the full year's insurance to me but God knows what would have happened if I'd have had a prang. I'm now with Adrian Flux and they were fine and it's covered for towing and greenlaning. They did want an immobiliser fitted and accepted a secret switch.
