  1. My personal veiw is depending on why you need them? my back arches are missing the edges so have cut the lower wings from another scrap disco and will blend them in to my body work, I did look at the plastic arches but decided they are 1, mud traps. 2, expensive. and 3, plastic :)

  2. Does anyone know if a TD5 back loading door will fit a 300TDi, or, does anyone know of an after market third brake light that fits tight to the glass like the TD5 one.

I'm going to black out the rear window and fit a grill for security and would like to sort out the brake light first.

I.ve been offered a complete TD5 door for £40.00 so cost is not the problem

  3. Saw a disco 1 which had been converted to a cab with a drop side body on the back in Wickford essex , anyone seen it or knows who's it is?, would love to see more of it as that is exactly what I was planning to do to one.

  4. Thanks for the link karlo, I have got the 2 way connectors here now but have also ordered 3 way so have them too, some mentioned about converting the bumper lights to stop and tail which I am looking into your link shows the lamps I could get to raid the bulb holders :)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, is the defender back stop and tail have the same plug connector?

  5. Had the same problem on mine a couple of years ago, I had to get them off to fit a tank gaurd as that was also bolted there, in the end fount it quicker to cut them off with the grinder & fabricte new ones with steel pipe & some 5mm steel at each side welded to the chassis

Hope that helps & good luck.

Yep thanks barmiebrumie, think this is the route I may have to take

  6. As a thourght you could look to possibly get a detachable drop plate on for example a rear tank guard. I don't know if this may be suitable for you with what you use your motor for or a cost you want to take but it's just an option.

    Cheers

    Ryck

I must admit it is one thing I have been looking at, the other is cut them off and fab new one's, at least I can beef them up a bit and use 10mm bolts

  7. Ok here one for you, been doing my rear chassis/ body mounts this weekend and although that went fine the tow bar mounts on the chassis sheared the bolts when I removed it.

I have tried knocking them out after stacks of Plusgas and even tried heat but all to no avail, it's the same both sides, my next move is to cut off the mounts from the chassis and form new one's, unless someone here has a better idea :)

  8. Hi, I'm on the look out for a Range Rover P38 and although there is no rush at the moment, wonder if any owners here could give their recommendations as to what to look out for as far a faults and rot are concerned, other than dodgy air bags and tailgate rot

Btw will likely to be a big V8

    Thanks
