  1. Evening. Fridgefreezer thanks for the two companies will bare them in mind if the proplem(s) look to be expensive. defv890: yes the vehicle ran great before we stuck it up on axle stands. It is booked into ROEAN ( landrover specialist ) on monday to sort out (hopefully) the electircal/pump probs. At the mo I am just waiting for the news........................ Cheers again for the responses. Ruff67
  2. Cheers for the replies and comments, Sorry fridgefreezer when I said it's not a pump, I ment that the fuel pick-up in the tank ( as steerngo said ) isn't a fuel pump on this vehicle. Will try and blow ( OHH ER MISSUS ) the pipe from filter tp tank today. I got a little confused, but that RAVE disc thingy-ma-bob Is really worth the wait. Learnt so much more . Thankyou. I have come to the result thet a new injector pump will be needed, just hope i can get some readies for the pump and fitting off the seller. Wish me luck, Will know more on monday, when it goes back into the garage. Need it doing, starting to get p'ed off again. Ruff67
  3. Morning. IT'S NOT A PUMP, just a fuel pick up. We all learn by mistakes, good job I didn't get over excited and order something that i didn't need. Back to square one, booked back in to garage on monday. Should have shot it when had the chance. Pee'd off Ruff67
  4. Hello again, Should of asked, What would be the part number for this pump and of course what will be the financial hit on the ol' wallet Night night all Ruff67
  5. Cheers Chris H If I'd have logged on this morning could of got a bit more sorted. Well theres always tomorrow. Ruff67
  6. Evening All, A glimmer of light at the end of a dark tunnel . Today stood and thought.................... Process of illimination time, check fuel at filter, no fuel. pumped by hand and bled the filter at the top after draining at the bottom. Still no fuel flow. Pump in tank, found it, ignition on and no noise, also the retaining ring ( not sure the name )does not stay on it pops of when trying to tighten up fully. But I guess the pump is U.S. somebody please say Im'e right. Would that cause the motor not to rev up due to lack of pump pressured fuel flow? Awaiting your replies with my breathe held ( so please reply soon ) thanks for the replies. Ruff67
  7. Cheers Gary1968 Will give that a go whilst it's imobile on my drive. By the sounds of it there is a bit more work on the car to do for an ameture. I think it may be a call to thr seeler to see if ther is a cance of returning it. Not a defetised but that and the NON REVIN prob sounds to costly for my budget. Never say never it might all change over night. Cheers again for the prompt responce to Ruff67 out
  8. Evening all Firstly great site, I'v browsed and read alot of threads. Vehicle; freelander 2Ltr Exdi on a V plate problem; Starts, ticks over but will not rev up. Put your foot on the gas and the EM light comes on. Story; I have just bought the car from a Trader/private seller ( trading from there private address ). The wife drove it home and said it shook a little when accelerating. Not having had a 4x4 in the past don't know whatit could be. It was very low on fuel so we put £15 in the tank and a friend and I went out in it. yes there was a shake/shudder, it felt like it was coming from the back, but you could feel it through your arse cheeks, more so on right hand bend whilst accelerating, more so on roundabouts, probably tyres? Back at home on the drive, jacked the car in the air.All four wheels off the deck, got underneath to give everything a good tug and pull, props, driveshafts and everything in between. All seemed tight and where it should be. Turn the car over whilst in the air and stuck it in gear to see if we could hear anything wrong. Answer, NO. Lowered the car to the floor and started it up again. This is when the throttle or lack of it appeared. Car will start first time, every time and tick over great not a glitch or murmmer of a problem but put your foot on the gas and the Engine Management Light comes on and no acceleration. Tonight it did creep up to just over the 1000rpm mark but no more and stil the light on. It has been to our local LR specialist and plugged in, report came back "Fitted throttle potensionmeter but fault still the same. Possible pump or wiring fault. Needs more investigation". Seller offered £250 towards the cost of repair, my answer is not fit for print on this fine site. So please help me. funds are not high so anything that I could try and eliminate with out the cost of the local specialist would be grand. cheers Ruff67
