I just had a con-rod go through my 300tdi Defender's block
Few q's
1. would the head still be okay so I only have to fit a new sub assembly??
2. If not, how much work and conversion is it to go for the TD5, and how much out of my Wallet??
3. Or maybe just take the plunge and go for the TDV6, and how much out my Wallet?...
And what the hell could have caused it, she was running smooth and perfect the whole time, not a problem whatsoever. Then on 80km/h bang and oil everwhere. I picked up the little pieces of Engine from the road. And half a gudgeon pin.
