If it hasn't got the spec you want then shop around. There are lots of high spec disco II's for sale. I've got a 51 plate adventurer and it has all the toys inc cornering enhancement and traction control. I've seen a few of these in the auto trader in the last few months.

Hi
Measure the length as it is now and set to the same length on the new bar, or, if the bars are the same length, count how many threads it takes to unscrew them and screw them back in the same amount, or, fit it and get it set up at the garage

Hi
I know you said you don't want to travel far but as i work in both ends of the country and study auto traders quite alot ( i know, i should get out more) I would say you will get more for your money up here in scotland. There are some crazy prices down there.

Hi
It will lose its code, you could connect a small lead from the battery to the terminal to maintain 12v to the radio. Is the code in the handbook somewhere. If you contact a dealership with your details they will(normally) tell you the code for the radio, as long as its the original radio.
cheers

Hello all,
Im looking for a rapid car that i can enjoy and take out for a good thrash, but it has got to be a large estate to carry two large dogs in cages as part of my job. the limit would be £9,000-10,000 but the cheaper the better. i was thinking about a Subaru legacy turbo not sure on the different specs or a vauxhall omega V6. has anybody else got some ideas?

Hi Fisha
I'd have a guess at compression type fittings on 8mm hard walled pipe. Have a bit of 8mm fuel pipe and a couple of fuel pipe clips ready for a quick repair

At a local land rover dealership a mechanic was removing the cylinder head from a Td5 Discovery when he spotted a well known heart surgeon in reception. The surgeon was waiting for the servive manager to have a look at his Range Rover when the mechanic shouted across the garage "hello doc, can i ask you a question"
The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked across the garage to where the mechanic was working. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on his overalls and asked, "so doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, repair and restore any damage, and put them all back in, when i've finished it works again like new. So, why is it that i get such a small salary and you get such a large one when we are doing the same job."
The surgeon paused, smiled, leaned over and whispered to the mechanic
"try doing it with the engine running"

Hi
Are all the bushes ok. It's possible to have rear wheer steering due to knackered trailing arm bushes.
Also, had this on the LSE. The steering drop arm always worked loose. When this happened, it had a mind of its own. get a big spanner/shifter and flog it up.

Just sold my K reg 3.5 Efi which was original. I think if it doesn't have 3.9 cast in the manifold cover its a fair bet its a 3.5.
So whats the big deal whats wrong with a 3.5? you won't ever suffer from a cracked block and you'll hardly notice the power difference!
Geoff
Are you replacing the engine in your rangie

Hi
If it's for extreme use, as i expect a tomcat would be, i wouldn't go for those 8 spokes. They are made of cheese and bend really easily

Hi
You could coat it in coppaslip to stop it rusting

Hi Rob
I've just fitted one to my hybrid, its a 4.2 from a LSE so is the same as yours really. My water pump has two bosses on the back, one is blanked and the other is a water supply. I have a small "S" shaped hose going from there to the thermostat housing. This is a replacement with an additional pipe.
Great link to RPI's site, i've just found out my dizzy vacuum pipe was on the wrong pipe
cheers
Geoff
