  1. I win! Found a broken earth on the gearbox where the rear loom comes back to it in the chassis rails. The connector had all but broken off on eo fthe earths so 5 mins with a soldering iron and all the gremlins have gone away. Guess dropping the gearbox had a role to play, so slightly embarassed... Thank you!
  2. i just ran an earth from the rear lights direct to the battery and it still had the same fault... This is very strange indeed.
  3. Hello, This is my first post and hope you can all help. I have a Defender 90 300tdi 1996 CSW and last week we needed to change the clutch fork (probably the first time the hazards needed using in 15 years) Two days later my wife was pulled over by the police who were somewhat bemused by her strange display of lights when indicating very early one morning. On further investigation I found that idicators left and right all work fine without the sidelights on. Bt when you turn the sidelights on indicating left causes the dash foglight warning lamp to flash togtehr with the left tail light. The flasher relay appears to be going at double speed too!. Indicating right with the lights on is totally normal. I have checked the chassis, gearbox earths and the bulkhead earths and all seems well and have bypassed the hazard switch to rule that out too. Pulling the fuse to the left side lights makes everything else behave normally. I havent tried a new relay yet but wonder what is going on as I cant work it out. Any advice greatfully received. Many thanks in advance. Ian
