  1. Watching with interest..................

Just a small note on your manifold design, since you have omitted the expansion joint on the regular manifold i suggest you keep the flange holes at the head pretty wide as it will expand and contract considerably, if you make them tight there is a tendency for the studs to get sheered off or maybe developing a leak.

In the past i had seen a tdi with fitted turbo on a mag, i belive it was some sort of french landy with a huge turbo, it had the most amazing exhaust manifold made, it looked like rams horns making a neat 4 into 1. Wish i could find a pic!

Regarding the actuator, you can get aftermarket ones with different spring rates according to the boost required, but you will need to fit the whole thing, funny it works by vacuum

    Keep it up........

i know which article your on about they tested it in a forest and it black smoked a little!!! i'll go hunting later for it...
  2. Are you sure about that??

2 cars = 2 insurances, 2 MOT's, 2 road taxes plus the cost of buying the additional vehicle, is the difference in MPG really that great, reckon a 200tdi should do around 25-30 mpg, a 1.2 Corsa 35-40 mpg, I haven't done the sums but if you are going to buy an additional vehicle I certainly would. Plus ... think about your cred :o :o - mind you the Corsa is a great car innit....... ;) ;)

Ahh now regarding this and a load of wheeling and dealing i bought me Bedford rascal the insurance is only £130 road tax £120 cost of buying £0 running do all my own maintanence £0 ish mpg in comparison to the 110 21mpg rascal 40+mpg 22mile round trip to work every day saving 1 gallon of diesel unleaded is cheaper do the maths it adds up somewhat!! :D:D

  3. We had norton on this laptop and it started crashing so took it in the computer shop said the poor thing was screaming with the amount of trojans etc.. that had got past the norton me brothers computer completly crashed due to norton and also me mates we are all running avast now and seems stunning!! :P

  4. when i was back in the Uk a month ago i was talking to an very good friend that used to sell them new as a dealer. I asked why they did not sell them any more. And the answer i got was that they were carp. The engine was great but every new one they sold had no end of problems which were all done on warranty but still was giving their company a bad name .The gear boxes were the most common problems with them . They so fed up with everyone they sold going wrong that they got rid of them . and they said that they know land rovers have warranty problems but these things are just bloody ridiculous the amout of problems they had

Anyway thats what me and Jules were told while looking at one parked in the car park at the garage

I spoke to a local dealer who just stopped dealing in them they also ran some as company hacks they where rubbish always breaking down i drove one with 11,000 miles on the clock it felt more like it had done a million!! That said they had some good idea's just manily poorley executed oh and old transit door handles and that blooming key that looked like a comb!!!

  5. It is expensive and I personally have no experience of them, but have heard rave reviews about them.

The vortex exhaust silencer, which turbines the gases creating reduced manifold pressure and at motorway speeds, reduces your engine revs because of which craft  and gives more power, fuel consumtion etc.

It would be good to hear from someone that has had experience with one of these, as from the reviews that I have read, they are turning out to work well.

    HTH

I did have a vortex silencer it made heck of a difference lowered the torque band helped on fuel and reduced smoke, But my gripes where 4 of them started rattling (internals came un welded!!) and the back up was complete Pants i would have stuck with it but got sick of trying to get hold of them!! so now running a twisted performance complete system!! Sounds stunning ;);)
  6. Got a mate who's got a miss fire on a 200tdi tappets are set correct injectors ok head gasket new and head skimmed recently doene a compression test and got these results
