  1. hi guys my main dealer reckon they have replaced the drag arm on my series II Disco. the guy who did the MOT for me reckons that the other ball joints need replacing as well. Getting under the vehicle, the dealer has definitely renewed the arm/rod nearest the front of the car. So the ball joints that need replacing are at the rear of the front wheels. a) are these ball joints replaceable on their own or do i need a complete new track rod inc. ball joints B) is this rear arm definitely called the track rod? c) how easy is to do these yourself? sorry for the dumb q's but you've got to start somewhere! cheers W
  2. hi guys, My 2000 TD5 Disco has developed a fuel leak. Looks like it's at the back of the engine block somewhere. It's been dripping for about six months now (just a few spots each time you stop). The whole bay is covered in diesel smelling oil! My indie has looked at it this afternoon and doesn't really fancy it as he's a self confessed Tdi expert and still getting up to speed on Td5's!! Is there a common problem here, and if so how easy it is to fix? cheers Wilf
  3. hi guys I have a 2000 Td5 Disco which never gets washed or cleaned etc. (it's a landy!!!) Whilst we were skiing back in February (in France) one of the rear air springs went so it had to go into the local dealer in Chambery. The blighters replaced the air spring but had the cheek to wash the car, presumably with a power wash. Half way back up through France i spotted that the front electric sunroof was now not working. I also now get the leak through the driver side sun visor/map pockets. I presume that the leak is most likely to be the drain blockage thing - has anyone found an easier way to get to them rather than taking off the head lining - or can you rod or blow them clean by getting to the lower end at the rear light cluster? but most importantly - i want to fix the sunroof - any ideas (I've checked the fuses etc.). I've not heard of any common problems with the electrics for the s/rs cheers wilf
  4. hi all i think i've got a dodgy air spring on my 2000 Td5 auto 7 seater disco. The car is right down on the arch and won't come up with ignition etc. a) is it likely to be something else B) how do i get at the air springs (do i need to jack up the vehicle) c) is it an easy DIY job to prelace a dodgy bag cheers
