  1. Hi to you both.

    yes I've checked for a V supply .

Also I've been told by a mate who's a mechanic that self park IS a requirement for MOT

I had the opposite problem last year when mine would just start to work on their own and wouldn't turn off, i tried everything and it ended up being the wiper motor.

have you checked the module that sits on the back of the fuse box can't remember what its called at the moment this controls the wipers speed instead of several relays doing it

Its called the multi function unit (MFU) just had a look at the wiring diagram.

If you still have the spare motor you can check if the motor is ok and the park will work by putting a voltage through it!

Then you will know if you have a problem with the MFU or not

    Hope this helps

  2. i guess i was worrying about nothing passed test ok tester said emissions smoke was below normal so i guess cats are not needed nor are egr valves thanks for replies

i removed my cat and it stopped it smoking almost completely, but in saying that the cat was half full of soot so i wasn't breathing right anyway!

Its done 200k and doesn't smoke much now!

    Regards Nick

  3. Also what years?? Axles have changed over the years.

    From Maxi-Drive catalog

Salisbury (110 to 1994) with drums. 665 and 985 mm

    Salisbury (110 1994 to ~2002) WITH DISCS 650 AND 970 mm

Don't show the 90 numbers, but again they would change when 24 spline came in.

    Later ones with disc brakes

    Thanks

  4. Hi there

Did the very same thing with mine quite a long time ago, the local Land Rover specialist hadn't got the tool to remove the injectors and i needed to replace them as they where faulty so i took it to them to put it on there test book to recode the injectors, as you said remove the rocker cover etc using a towel and a piece of wood over the top to stop it from flying out and causing damage to the bonnet.

They weren't to chuffed because they had told me it couldn't be done with out the special tool!!!!!

    Regards

    Nick
