  1. I had a mate with a similar problem to this and it was a damaged wheel ( buckled) that was causing the problem Hope this helps Nick
  2. Hi Kevin I will watch this with interest because i have the same dilemma on my three door disco! Regards Nick
  3. I had the opposite problem last year when mine would just start to work on their own and wouldn't turn off, i tried everything and it ended up being the wiper motor. have you checked the module that sits on the back of the fuse box can't remember what its called at the moment this controls the wipers speed instead of several relays doing it Its called the multi function unit (MFU) just had a look at the wiring diagram. If you still have the spare motor you can check if the motor is ok and the park will work by putting a voltage through it! Then you will know if you have a problem with the MFU or not Hope this helps Nick
  4. i removed my cat and it stopped it smoking almost completely, but in saying that the cat was half full of soot so i wasn't breathing right anyway! Its done 200k and doesn't smoke much now! Regards Nick
  5. can you give us a bit more info on where the bearings are on the vehicle so we can help! Regards Nick
  6. Have you checked that the wiper motor has a permanent 12 volt supply to it as this is used for parking the wipers Regards Nick
  7. Thanks Again Jim I have looked in the Haynes manual as well and can't find it there either!! Its strange how they will put the ratios for the MPI but not for the TDI ? Regards Nick
  8. Thanks Jim I found the mpi ones on rave but can't find the tdi ones Does anyone have the ratios for the R380 TDI box Regards Nick
  9. Does anyone happen to have the gear ratios for the TDI version of the R380 gearbox, just wondering if they are different from the 2.0 litre mpi version? Many thanks Nick
  10. Thanks Mark that will save me removing mine to check the length! Regards Nick
  11. I thought that they where both the same length but then again you learn some thing everyday! If you have the sizes of both please? Thanks Nick
  12. Hello Does anyone know the length of the front half shafts on a disco from the diff to the cv joint? Many thanks Nick
  13. Hello Does anyone know the length of the defender rear half shafts? Many thanks Nick
  14. Hi there Did the very same thing with mine quite a long time ago, the local Land Rover specialist hadn't got the tool to remove the injectors and i needed to replace them as they where faulty so i took it to them to put it on there test book to recode the injectors, as you said remove the rocker cover etc using a towel and a piece of wood over the top to stop it from flying out and causing damage to the bonnet. They weren't to chuffed because they had told me it couldn't be done with out the special tool!!!!! Regards Nick
