  1. Also interested in the coolant level mod. Looking on the internet shows a number but wondering if there is a recommended one?
  2. Simple question. Following a new clutch, my clutchpedal came back all the way past mid-point. Checked and the circlip had popped out from the piston so that nothing held the clutch pedal from coming back. Wording is bad but hopefully understood. Surely there is more holding the clutch pedal that that circlip in the clutch piston. I suspect that there must be something stronger that I'm missing as a misplaced foot will pull the clutch pedal out again.
  3. I have a 00 and a 04. The 04 has one but the 00 has a little box instead
  4. I have two 1.8 petrol and am watching for any headgasket symptoms as i just bought both this month. One is 00 and the other is 04. Knew about the headgasket failures before I bought and guessing that the concern also meant the low price that I paid. Guessing that my occurance in the o4 as detail above is a faulty fan switch. Not sure when the temperature guage would immediately revert from cold to half way up when it corrected itself. Will keep watching. The 00 has a little white smoke and is running a littel rough so suspect that I have a job to do there. That 80 page picture article on this site will come in very handy.
  5. Just bought a 04 freelander. It's an 03 model. Driving it yesterday and temp guage dropped to cold, stasyed there and returned to middle in a few minutes. Checked and the engine seemed fine on temperature. Happened again when I was driving and stayed on this time for 20 mins, Checked and the fans were running. Then when turned car off, it returned immediately to normal. Guessing a temp switch sticking and when fans are on, guage drops to showing cold. Will keep watching it. Kevin
