  1. Anyone recommend a landy mechanic in the Exeter area?
  2. I will have to check the boxes.(in the bin). The strange thing is it now back to the original condition before I did anything which is pushing me towards the actual clutch side of things.
  3. I will have a look at that next. thanks
  4. I did make sure the rod stayed in place. I have also read that the rod can punch through the fork but I don't know how to check without taking off the slave cylinder again.
  5. I have been having problems with the clutch on my 04 reg defender 90 TD5. It started off by not going into gear. I found the clutch fluid empty. After bleeding the clutch it did work but I have to have the pedal to the floor. Clutch engages just as i release it from the bulkhead. The clutch does not slip do I decided to replace the master cylinder and slave cylinder. After the final bleed the clutch would still not release to enable gear selection. i adjusted the travel on the master cylinder piston arm. I am now back to square one with the clutch only working with the pedal right in. Someone said that it is the clutch plate worn. It has only done about 49000 miles and is not slipping. Can it be the clutch causing this? Ideas please I need help.
  6. I have a defender 90, TD5, 04. The windscreen wipers have started to do there own thing. The intermittent function will start off with the normal 1 wipe then pause but then goes off on its own with 3 or 4,5 or 6 wipes between pauses. Then it will go into normal continuous operation. The problem then is that they will not turn off. I try selecting other position but no go, they keep going. I don’t think it is the stalk switch because if I flick on then off they will stop. The problem occurs after they have been on for a few minutes. Any ideas out there. Is there a wiring diagram available? I would like to see what other components are in this circuit.? With winter coming I would like to sort this out. Thanks in advance Rog
