loctite do a good gasket remover.
Loctite 7200 works well leave it on for a while for the really old gaskets and it soften them up.
Also loctite 598 RTV is a good gasket replacment.

I've been given a TD5 fuel tank for my 110 project but how does it fit into the chassis???? I know there is a bracket I need but there doesn't seem to be any mountings on the tank, does the bracket attach to the tank or does it just float on the bracket????

Hi all,
Is there any petrol (gems version) P38 owners in south wales (bridgend, swansea or cardiff) Area on here as I need a favor.
Is there any chance I could meet up with you and have alook and take a few pics of the engine bay, reason being I'm putting a P38 engine into a 110 and need to see how Land Rover have run some pipes and how a few items are fitted.
Can you PM me if your happy for me to have alook at your P38

The owners handbook states that only engine oil meeting certain Ford spec should be used when servicing. There is no choice. Unfortunately the LR dealer (just one here) insists on using Mobil 1 5w-40. This oil meets other Ford specs.....Aparently the only way to get this cleared is to write to the LR customer service. I would not call since I probably won´t understand the English on the phone. The question: does anybody knows if the usually reply?
thanks
M
Go to your local ford dealer and buy some Ford oil, It's cheaper that LR stuff and just the same. I used it in my Disco 3 with no problems.

Hi Folks,
I'm new to the defender scene and was wondering can you replace the sliding windows on a 110 CSW with fixed ones or the new sliding ones???
Also how do you get the old ones off??

They do look good dan. I was thinking about 35's but I'll stick to 33 as the biggest i'll go, really I need to try and fit a set of 255/85/16 on to make sure before I buy,
if theres too many issues with them then i'll stick to 265/75/16's as I don't get any problems with them.
