  1. Droitwich Land Rover (Worcestershire) I had heard that they (Droitwich Land Rover) came bottom in a poll of dealerships for after sales service - not sure how true this is!
  2. Collected our Defender from our local LR dealer on Friday (As agreed with the salesman), and found: 1). Vehicle wasn't taxed. They had to send a minion to the post office whilst we waited. 2). Service book wasn't stamped. Despite us examining our new purchase up on ramps in the workshop 2 days previously. 3). Tool kit (Wheel brace, levers etc.) missing. We were given a new kit from a new Defender in the showroom when we complained. 4). No Socket/Key for the locking wheel nuts. This is going to be ordered this week. 5). No Radio code. Again - this is going to be ordered this week. We did get a "free" wheelcover for the spare wheel however!
  3. 'Fraid that just doesn't cut it. I've tried that. - You know how women are, and as her driving instructor said "Mirror, Make-up, Manoeuvre !"
  4. Cheers! - Checked out the web site, and I think I'll be ordering a set! - Many thanks for the Info.
  5. Just completed a 200 mile round trip in our new(ish) 110 - collected yesterday from our local LR dealer. (that's another story) She who must be obeyed (The Mrs) wants to know how I could justify spending over 20K on a vehicle that doesn't even have a vanity mirror on the underside of the sun visor! (I'm lost for words ) I've a numb bum from the seats, a sore elbow from the bashing against the door, cramp in both legs from the poor leg room (I'm 6' 2") and a splitting headache from the engine roar - but in the immortal words of the comedian Dick Emery.....You Are Awful......................But I Like You!
  6. Yes - that's the one I wanted - the ABS plastic/rubber one. They are not selling them (they're out of stock after reducing them in price dramatically). And the Land Rover dealer claims that they - and any other reputable garage are not allowed to fit them as from the end of May. If I can get hold of one secondhand - I can of course fit it myself, but the A bars are now discontinued - even though they are listed in the catalogue.
  7. Tried to get an A bar fitted by my local Land Rover dealer today (thought I'd get as many accessories fitted before I collect our new toy!). Dealer advised he's sold out of all the Defender A Bars as they will be illegal for dealers to fit at the end of May. They were being sold for £90 (Genuine Land Rover with Defender embossed). The dealer MAY be able to get hold of one with the lamp surrounds incorporated - but he's not sure as the spares ordering system won't allow him to order one officially. Just what will the Health & Safety Executive ban next in order to save us from ourselves?????
  8. I sense a smidgeon of rivalry 'tween 90 & 110 owners! Have I done the right thing in buying a 9 seater for my short 1 mile journey to work?!!!?? We do have 3 dogs however - so I guess I can justify the purchase for them
  9. Just wanted to say a brief "Hi" to fellow Defender owners. About to take delivery of my first Defender! (LWB XS TD5 model), upgrading from my old Freelander. We're both very excited about forthcoming ownership - It's being prepped in the local Land Rover dealership as I type (having 4 x folding side steps added, and rear spot light fitted). Only wish I could afford the A Bar, bash plate, front spots, roof rack, high level air intake etc. etc! Oh well, at least I'll soon have the vehicle! Looking forward to reading posts. Maurice & Lesley
