im new to the forum so be kind to me pleases
i have just rebuilt me s3 2.25ltr diesel engine and if i do say myself done a good job of it :D i had to recondition it due to a slight misshap at buers last mouth
any way i set the engine up as stated in the books i have and set the timeing up and low and behold it started on the 2nd turne of the key once i fitted it (am i that dam good or what) :D and the engine sounds great.
the problem i have is there is a real lack of power infact it almost stalls when i try to pull away in high rage. and there is a lot of gray smoke no let me refrase that there is a ********* of smoke, the smoke is black at very start then turns gray from my understanding thats the fuel distributor timeing, so i obviusely need to do some fine ajustment on it.
but which way and is there any tricks that will help, iv tryed playing with it and reduced the smoke but still have no power it revs fine sounds great but as soon as you put it under load (in gear) it dies, and all the fuel pipes are solid meatal pipes and so i have to release the pipes and ajust the fuel dizzy then reconect the pipes and try it all of which takes about 30 mins, there must be a quicker / easyer way.
