  1. I will have a look at this also. Thanks to everyone who has replied with suggestions so far Michael
  2. Great idea - i have seen these before and this would solve my problem and I guess would be easy to fit. I will look into this as well. Michael
  3. Thanks for this – I was told that cutting the Perspex would be quite difficult which is why I had avoided it like the plague – again I am not particularly bothered about the edges as quite rightly they will be hidden by the internal edging I just thought it would be easier to get one cut to size and fit it much like the window I have already replaced once. Thanks again for the advice though – if I cannot get a template or one supplied at size I will give this a try as it doesn’t sound too bad.
  4. I need the door open as the boat is around 20ft long and 8ft wide and fills the rear window when looking back if I open the door I can see the wheels completely and the slip way I use is both narrow and short when at low water. The wing mirrors don’t give me the same visibility as actually turning around and looking at the boat through an open door. Other people use mirrors – this is just my preference I have young kids as well hanging around and there are just too many blind spots with mirrors for my liking Thanks
  5. Again thanks for your reply – the land rover is down at my caravan and I have limited access to tools and thought cutting Perspex (especially thick Perspex) would require more than your average saw? I was also looking for an easy option of giving the size to someone who could cut it correctly and I could then just replace – this is well within my limited capabilities! Thanks Michael
  6. Thanks for the reply – yes I have someone who can do this for me I just need a template or measurements for the window – the top corners being the difficult bit. I live just north of Manchester and I am happy to purchase this in either Perspex or metal but I am struggling to find anyone who can supply me with the measurements or the replacement window itself. Thanks for replying to me
  7. Hello I hope someone can help me – I have a Defender 90 1989 that I use to tow and move a boat – the problem is that when I turn sharply in reverse the boat catches the door – I need to reverse with door open – and sometimes I don’t notice this soon enough and because of the pressure on the door and lack of rubber around the window seals (although I am not convinced this would make much difference) the rear window shatters. This has now happened twice. I would like to either have a template with dimensions which I could give to someone I know who could cut me something out of Perspex which would be the best solution – creating my own template from the glass is not an option really as they need measurements rather than a cardboard cut out – they do it on a CAD machine. Another option would be to replace with metal rather than window but I am struggling to find anyone who does this despite searching the internet. I have searched the internet to get dimensions with no joy. If someone could help me with this especially around the dimensions or point me in the direction of someone who could help getting me a Perspex windows I would be really grateful. I have tried LRDirect.com and Paddocks. Thanks Michael Carter
