  1. I resealed everything with an RTV silicone sealant But whilst I have been trying to track down the problem, I've managed to snap the coolant outlet on the manifold, so waiting for a replacement to turn up.
  2. Have currently got accelerator cable disconnected, and checked the flap is free to move and in the closed position. i have also tried with both the stepper motor and afm disconnected, and still the same.
  3. I recently had the head gaskets go on my 1996 3.9 v8, so duly stripped the top end down to repair. Both heads have been checked, skimmed, and refitted with new gaskets and bolts. I came to start the car for the first time, and although it started first time, it now imediately goes to max revs and stays there. I have checked and recehcked all electrical connections, hoses and pipes, and all are correct. Has anyone else come across this problem, or have any ideas what I should be looking at.
