  1. Hello one and all.

I'm in the middle of a series rebuild but I need some infor from you guys as it's been a while since I rebuilt a defender.

I have a PRC8876 relay with the following pins:

    49a

    49

    C2

    31

Can anyone give me any info on how to wire them up, as in what connects to what terminal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Regards

  2. Hello one and all, well I'm flumucksed

The wiring on my series 3 has had a hazard switch fitted on the centre panel between the top dash and bottom dash in the middle.

I have 'found' a land rover branded flasher unit PRC8876 fitted, but all the wires are the same colour (red) and I disconnected them like a twit.

Now my hazards are working but the indicators don't, at all.

Can anyone shed any info on this if possible? I'm guessing if I find a wiring diagram to fit PRC8876 this it will have a power out terminal that the indicator wire will connect to.

As you can tell this is annoying the heck out out of me as it's the only ruddy thing not working on the whole bloddy truck (so far)

    Regards

  3. Camping mats are fine and fire proof, sound deadening the bonnet and floors are really effective, I've a 109 hi-cap pickup and I've done, bonnet, bulkhead front and back, rear bulkhead, roof, floor, doors and seatbox. Let me just say it's really quiet, all these people who say it's a series live with are kidding themselves, land river offered a sound proofing kit many foreign markets, I've seen a Swedish series 3 with a sound proofing kit that did what I've dine but it had the engine and inner wings done aswell.

  4. Hello one and all, does anyone have ANY idea how the heck to wire in the LED toggle switches from Raptor engineering?

There are 3 spade connections, top edge, top and bottom, doeas anyone one know the best way to wire these in?

I know it's very simple but I'm mentally knackered and to be honest I need to get it done so I can relax!

    Thanks in advance

  5. Hello one and all, well I've successfully rebuilt and inserted my Mazda SL35Ti into my 110 along with the Santana LT85, however I should have changed the ruddy clutch but I didn't and now it slips like a giraffe on ice, so it's coming out on saturday for a new complete clutch.

Now whilst it's out I thought a rebuild of the gearbox with one of the Ashcroft Master kits. Now I really need a manual or a print off of how to do it.

My next question, has anyone done this before? As I can get the bearings trade through work as I'm in the engineering supplies trade, and to be honest i can probably get better quality bearings than those supplied (thats not knocking ashcroft, the bearings they supply are good quality, but I can get better free through work) I'd like to know what sizes are used if anyone knows?

    Sorry for the long list.

    Regards

  6. Well after spending over £500 on saturday (new starter, filters, lift pump, and rocker gasket, after the starter blew friday night) I have eventually got the ruddy Mazda SL35ti running tonight!

Let me just say that with a straight through exhaust exiting out of a stack in the rear tub, it sounds like the god of hell fire! I'm massively chuffed, and I reckon it should all be finished by sunday for the MOT on monday!

I only have the exhaust to finalise, the rear roll cage to fit, chequer plate the tub and tidy everything up!

    Whooooooooooohooooooooooooo

I have to say, I'm looking forward to fitting the dump valve aswell, childish I know but it should be fun

    Mazda power!!!!

  7. Hello one and all, I reckon I've sussed the ignition barrel, however the ruddy thing still won't turn over.

When I turn the key the relay clicks, however I reckon I have the wrong relays in the new holders, could this also be down to an under powered battery? I am trying to turn over a 3.5 mazda engine instead of the old 300 tdi.

Does anyone know what relays go into what holders, I'll be looking at buying new relays as I've re-used the old ones from the '89 plate loom in this 200/300 loom, so I reckon they are wrong.

Sorry for all the stupid questions but I am really trying to get this thing sorted out.

  8. This one from Paddocks

I know everyone keeps telling me to check out the wiring diagram, but to be honest they aaren't the most helpfull of things, I'm nearing trying to start the engine in my newly rebuilt truck after it was vandalised but I'm having a hell of a problem wiring the ignition in, can someone please help :up :wrench :yay

It has 5 numbered pins, 2 of them are large type

  9. Hello one and all.

I have 2 questions if anyone can help.

I have a new wiring loom (it has the twin row blade fusebox) I have installed this but I'm struggling with how to connect up the ignition barrel. It's a 5 pin ignition barrel from paddocks, the blades are numbered 1-5. I really need help with what to connect up and how it goes.

The next question is the following, Where the engine wiring loom connects to the main loom. I need to know what each colour wire does, I am making a new wiring loom for my mazda SL3500tdi engine and so I need to know what I'm connecting it up to.

I know this may be asking alot but please help :)

  10. Hello one and all, I'm after a wiring diagram if anyone has one, I've tried all the usual searchs but I've not managed to unearthed anything.

So if you have one to share that would be great.

I'm just looking at getting a whole new wiring harness made up as I'm rebuilding the whole ruddy thing due to an attempted theft, so new engine and box, twin pro-comps on each corner, castor correction arms front and back, Qt gaurds and mounts, an external cage, rapto dash, hopefully a new interior (if not a new drivers seat) So I really could do with this diagram :)

  12. Hello one and all, I am rebuilding my truck and I have just bought new steering rods etc and an adjustable panhard rod, now my question is,

What is the distance between the grease nipples on the main steering link and what is the length, distance of the bar between the steering box and the hub?

Also what is the length needed for the pan hard rod with a 2" lift?

    Thanks in advance everyone.

(I'm just going out side to fit my corrected radius arms so I'll be back in an hour or so :)

  13. Hello one and all, this is a dumb question but I thought I'd ask as I've not opened the packs yet.

I've bought a set of tree sliders for a 110 from Paddocks. Not my question is, does the floor screw into it? also how does the b pillar attach to it?.

Oh and I'm awaiting delivery of my new Raptor Engineering dash and replacement cb :)

I'll let you know how it turns out, but let me just say, it looks very cool!

  14. I've won a mazda 3.5 SLTi Diesel engine from good ebay and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of running one?

It is comming with a defender/santana gear box and a RRC 1.192 transfer box, along with props, seat box and all the other bits and bobs.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of running one of these engines as i would be interested to know how they've got on with them.

    Regards
