  1. I'm looking to fit hydro assist simillar to Steve90's set up and replace the A frame ball joint and trailing arm chassis bushes. I've looked back though the old threads and the subject has been overed a lot. But I'd like your views, are johnny joints worth the extra expence, what's the cost, ease of rebuilding them. Or use the cheaper rose joints and carry spares Cheers Dave
  2. Been looking at rose joints for some suspension and steering mods I'm planing. What I'm wondering is what the best ones to go for? and also how quickly do they wear? on an off road vehicle when they're consantly submerged in mud acting like a grinding paste. Cheers Dave
  3. I thought so, I,m off down the local breakers tomorrow he's got a 200 and a 300 disco witch I'm going to releave of there steering boxes and drop arms, never hurts to have a spare. Out of interest where do you get your rose joints? I've seen them on ebay. Cheers Dave
  4. Hi Steve Is that a disco drop arm you've got there? Mounting the drag link below the arm I asume keeps it at roughly at the same height as with the standard set up. Also how have you mounted the end of the ram to the chassis another rose joint or a bush? There must a small amount of front to back movement as the drop arm sweeps an arc. Cheers Dave
  5. Hi All First post, been watching for a while, very usefull forum. I've been following the evolution of Steve's hydro assist, very impressed nice peace of engineering. I,m looking to put hydro assist no my 90. I'm running 36" simex and having issues with my power steering [twisted sector shaft, blown seals etc]. Does hydro assist improve the life expectancy of the steering box? I've got a 6 bolt but I'm thinking of changing it for a 4 bolt box, I'd be very interested in pics of modified boxs, I think I know where to drill and tap the box, but it would be reasuring to see some pics of other peoples boxs before taking the plunge Cheers Dave
